I looked through the site but couldn't find an answer to this question: Did he do it the same old fashioned way Charles did it with just dead reconing and a compass, or did he go a little more high tech with nav aids & GPS ?

    Best Regards,

He made the flight in a Lancair Columbia 300, full IFR with GPS. The company I work for produces, amoung other things, the flap hinges (machined aluminum investment castings) for the complete Lancair Columbia line.

The flight has been documented by the Discovery Channel and is scheduled to air in the U.S.A. on monday, may 20th.
