Excellent! I did as you suggested and tinkered around in the Sound Configuration function. The problem seems to have been resolved. Many thanks! Btw I'm using Windows 10.

I have FSX and I usually make use of the canned ATC facility. This has suddenly started behaving oddly. As soon as I activate ATC (eg seeking clearance or permission to taxi), the sound fades almost to nothing. The sound of the aircraft isn't affected, only the sound of ATC speech, Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I have encountered exactly the same problem. I have FSX Gold and have been happily using it with Windows 10. But it has now started telling me, on start-up, that there is an error. And, when I override that and fly, I am told after half an hour that my time is up. Is this Microsoft's way of getting us to buy their latest flight simulator programme? Or is there a solution?

I have recently started to get the message, when opening FSX, that 'an error occurred while attempting to activate the product'. I have over-ridden this but after c30 minutes the flight cuts out with the message that my trial of FSX is over. Has anyone else experienced this problem? And, if so, is there a solution that doesn't involve the lengthy process of removal and reinstallation of the programme?
