Gi'day, You have mail. Regards, Dorian
  2. Gi'day, The F1_view.dll was a niffty tool ... when it was first released. But it came with the following proviso: "There may be instances where you may not want to use F1_view if it conflicts with another component that you may have installed. Note: When using F1_view, and the center mouse wheel is being used, you may need to hold the cursor away from a gauge that accepts mouse inputs, as the center wheel may fire off a gauge action." Therefore you will lose"... mouse-based zooming, panning, and eyepoint adjustments, including the ability to move your eyepoint beyond the limits imposed by Flight Simulator (this feature is good to stroll about virtual cabins of larger aircraft)." When I moved exclusively to VC panel useage it was, sadly, one of the first items I had to let go. Regards, Dorian
  3. Gi'day, You're not using the F1_view.dll are you? If so, there's the issue. Regards, Dorian
  4. Gi'day, It works. Re: your Win 11 laptop install: it will work, you must install the NoCD. Regards, Dorian

    AIR files

Gi'day John, Just quoting from Bob Chicilo's Readme: " This is a good copy of AirEd by William M. Roth. I have noticed that other versions of this utility are missing things. Like in primary aerodynamics under lift, there should be 8 records, not 6 ... This upload is done because I think there are people out there who are trying to make money from the simulator community who have used their knowledge to make it harder for the average person to produce an aircraft that flys well. They do this in part by corrupting the original work of the AirEd author. Been using this (1.52) version since its 2009 (FSX) release and have experienced no problems either. YMMV, of course. Regards, Dorian

Gi'day, Look for "godaired.zip", an " uncorrupted version" of William Roth's original tool; complied by Bob Chicilo . Regards, Dorian
  7. You know, the most important tool in this forum is the "Ignore" button ... haters can hate as much as they like and you never get to see them spouting their vitriol (unless someone quotes them in a later post). Thanks Flightsim.com for such a valuable tool. Very much appreciated.
  8. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Jim. Dorian
  9. I too would be most interested in a detailed step-by-step guide for d/ling and activating said NOAA METAR. I've tried in the past, but must be missing an important step (or three) ... Regards, Dorian
  10. Gi'day Mark, Unpluged headphones ... yes. Don't have computer speakers so there's nothing to plug in (haven't owned any since 2005-6). Have lived under headphones since my ABC radio producer days back in the late 60s. Regards, Dorian
  11. Gi'day, Took the path of least resistance and re-installed Windows 11 (hey, it has worked flawleslly since 2018). Have just now started a plain vanilla reinstall of FS9.1, and, so far, no sound problem(s). Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions. Regards, Dorian
  12. Great to see others have no problems. However, there is some gremlin at malicious play on my rig. @ Tom: Yep. First thing I looked at. Unfortunately, no go. Thanx though (I know how easy it is to accidently mash the Q key. ) @JSMR: Am seriously giving consideration to reinstalling Win10 (an OS I never ever had any problems with). Regards, Dorian
  13. Just wondering if it's me, but as of April 10, something has radically altered my FS9 install ... primarily, I now have NO sound (ATC/Environment/Aircraft et al). Currently am using Realtek HD Audio drivers (v6.0.8703.1) which were working fine on April 9; however, went to continue the flight next day ... and nada, no sound. In my Windows 11 Sound System Control panel I have: - Realtek HD Audio 2nd Output (I use headphones) set as my default Sound Device formatted to - 2 Channels, 24bit, 48000Hz Studio Quality - Level set at: 33 (Left: 33, Right: 33) - Audio Enhancements: Off and - Spatial Audio: Off In the Windows 11 Control Panel/Sound I have disabled Exclusive Mode and Under Communications: Do Nothing. I have only now just finished rolling Win 11 back to a 04.04.2023 Restore Point and let it do it's thing. Curiously enough, I now have sound for FS9. So, has anyone else (who also uses Windows 11) experienced any FS9 sound anomalies within the last week? Should also mention this happened at least a day or so before the latest Windows 11 update released this morning (12.04.2023). Regards, Dorian
