  1. I purchased a used trim wheel a few years ago and connected to my flight sim, but have never had it working properly. When the rotary pot hits a certain value, it all of a sudden either nose dives or stalls based on the rotation. However, when I look at the input on my control software, there's no leap in value. I removed the trim wheel today to look at replacing the rotary potentiometer and noticed that it was 100k. I always assumed it should have been 10k. Has anyone build/installed a rotary pot for their trim wheel? This is the pot that was already installed. Anyone have any rotary pot recommendations for a trim wheel?
  2. Hopped on today and saw 3 new notifications in the top menu which states 3 unread private messages. I clicked on it to only find 0 messages and not seeing any other messages available. When I got to my Inbox it states: "Inbox contains 0 messages. You have 3 messages stored, of a total 50 allowed." I can't even see the '3 messages stored'. Can anyone at FlightSim.com assist?
  3. Hello folks, I'm in need of some help and am wondering if there are other users of Flight Illusion's hardware or anyone else with the knowledge to help me out. As a real world pilot, I made a substantially large investment into more accurate training hardware to replicate a C172 as best as I could with what's available. This includes a Brunner yoke, GNS530 GPS by emuteq/Realtek, TRC radio stacks and Flight Illusion hardware. Flight Illusion provides fantastic (but not cheap) gauges and control modules that provide analog/digital inputs, as well as digital outputs based on FSUIPC offsets. I've wanted to use A2A's C172 trainer for quite a long time with my hardware but I found out today that Flight Illusion doesn't support 3rd party software (A2A) that doesn't use these FSUIPC offsets. I found out that A2A uses LVars, not FSUIPC offsets and therefore I can't use their products with Flight Illusion hardware. The only other options i have been using is Carenado's or P3D's C172. Not terrible, but they lack the realism that the A2A C172 provides. I was told by the owner of Flight Illusion that there are some supported workarounds, but haven't gotten much more information than that right now. My questions to the FlightSim Cockpit builder community are: - Any idea what these workarounds could be that he's mentioned? Is there software or a process where I can convert LVars to FSUIPC perhaps? - Are there any other alternatives to A2A's C172 that provide a higher level of realism? I have had not luck finding any additional C172 aircraft that fits the bill. Any help from the FlightSim community would be hugely appreciated! I can provide more details, screenshots, and videos if necessary.
  4. The elaborate a little more, I've tested the slide potentiometer with 20k resistance, and they are indeed linear based on the resistance value. When I wire them up, it's still doing about 90% value reading at 25% slide increase. Even though the slide pots ere tested correctly, I've tried using a few other slide pots with the same results.
  5. I've been building some sim TPM controls using actual Cessna TPM controls, but mounting a linear slide potentiometer where the cable goes. I have the throttle control working, but notice that the range from one end to the other is not balanced. When the throttle is off, its value is jittering between 3-5. Approximately 25% throttle on the slide pot shows a high jitter value at 976-978, 50% value at 1006-1007, 75% value at 1014-105, and 100% value at 1018-1019. Flight Illusion GSA-010 I/O board. The software has range limit input from 0-1023, with a cross over value setting. Changing the cross over value doesn't make any difference. The issue looks like it's coming from the the analog signal. Has anyone else had this same issue, and were they able to overcome it? I tried using both 20k and 50k linear slide pots. Am I using defective pot slides?
