  1. It seems like that was the fix, mine is up and running again.
  2. Good thinking Batman. But,Fs9 is running on it's own drive(D)which is running XP,so I doubt very much there's any updates available now.
  3. As above,I have FSUIPC installed and running(for Fs9,yes I'm one of those old fogies),FS real weather WX lite used to run without problems, but now it's always "waiting for Fs". Any ideas anyone?
  4. Go here and PM the poster: https://www.kaskus.co.id/show_post/57a6d5a3620881ab5c8b4567/3028/fs2004-xpsimulations-montpellier-2005-rip
  5. Knew a guy that had worked at the old BAe Woodford(used to be Avro's) site,he reckoned everyone ran a diesel engined vehicle. They used to get jets in for repair and modifications, the first thing they did was drain the fuel tanks, they had tons of the Jet A-1 in 40 gallon oil drums. They'd worked out the ratio of turbine oil to -A1 to make it as "oily" as diesel,he reckoned it burnt cleaner than diesel did and gave slightly better miles per gallon to boot.
  6. I use Fs9 and run a modern RAF/RN scene with "current" UK civil and military stuff as AI. I find plenty of downloadable or cd based kit that works well enough for me. If I want a classic airliner(as flown by some organisations in the real world) HJG and CalClassics are places I go to to find what I want. So for me those people certainly provide what I've needed in the past and certainly will continue to do so.
  7. I get a similar error for Area 38 and 68. Where would one find these areas?
  8. Couldn't agree more it's awful. Where's the Fs2004 forum gone?

Did you ever get this jet?
  10. Has anyone got it to work in Fs9???? I've tried it before and there's quite a few bits that don't appear(canopy/hood,main landing gear for starters). What needs to be done to make it play?
  11. Many thanks John. As it happens,my Fs9 actually runs on an XP drive slaved to my main "runner" drive,so it should be possible to install and run that programme. I did actually find a pretty good engine sound file for the Yak's Shvetsov(one of AF Scrub's)but it does lack the "hiss" of the Yak's pneumatics,i.e the flaps, the brakes and the Shvetsov's unique "air starter" which turns and primes the engine to give a pretty instant start up hot or cold
  12. Thnks for the H.U tiger,I'll have a look, many though seem just to alias the sounds to the stock DC-3/C-47,which of course, sound absolutely nothing at all like a Shvetsov ASh-21 seven cylinder.
  13. Pretty much as I thought Chris,I'll have a look for the software to pull the sound from the clips. I've had a looksee all over the place Col. The only Russian radial I can find is the Shvetsov Ash-62. This is a nine cylinder that has a big collector ring and a single pipe,so it muffles the exhaust note quite a bit and drives a four blade prop in the An-2. The ASh-21 in the C-11 is a seven cylinder with twin pipes exiting underneath driving a two blade paddle prop with hardly any rasp(more of a deep thrum, nothing like a Harvard). Seven cylinders sounds are hard to find, the closest in sound to the ASh-21 is the M-14 9 cylinder in the Yak 18T that drives a similar prop but 360 hp compared to the ASh-21's 700.
  14. How do you do it ? I'd like to make an engine sound file for an ASh-21 engined Yak/Let C-11. There's some good clips on youtube of them starting, taxiing, take off, fast fly-by's,landing and taxying back in,is it possible to "clip"the sound and make a file to use with the Yak? For example:
  15. Sounds for it ? I'm now looking at a soundset for it. I think the supplied Biffo Centaurus 18 cylinder sleeve valver isn't quite right....... It's fitted with a Shvetsov ASh 21 seven cylinder. I've listened to real ones on Yootoob, they don't have much prop rasp, rattle like hell on idle and makes the classic "Bloop-Bloop" radial sound at low rpm,and have a pretty "poppity" exhaust note from the ASh's seven cylinders. The only thing I can think of is the Continental R-670/W-670 seven cylinder radial(though smaller cu in's than the ASH 21) Anyone else any ideas at all?
