I've never taken offense to be thought of as "the public". Aside from a few contributions to the requested features board, I've had very little (if anything) to do with the game's development. Just...
This happens with the most commonly pirated copy of the file on the web. (Yes, I know, I tried to download pirated abandonware, many years ago. I got a nasty email from my cable company about it and...
I'd recommend that you forgo FS9 and go for FSX Steam, P3D, X-plane, or practically anything else a bit more modern.
This one is for the intermediate- and advanced-level fliers on here. If you're flying into Pulkovo airport in St. Petersburg (or any other airport, for that matter) with the Instrument Landing...
I'm actually doing this and making headway on the L-39 from Reno. This neat little program called NewBglAnalyze lets you disassemble the BGL file into MDL (model) and XML (location) files. The real...
Is there something that can convert to SketchUp format?
I'm working on the L-39 from Reno right now. I managed to extract the model data using a neat little program called NewBglAnalyze. I've grafted the missing files (interior model, panel, sound,...
Update: I've abandoned my pursuit of the Helio Stallion in order to focus on the L-39 from Reno. That seems to be an overall more simple aircraft. I did manage to find a good BGL disassembler, and...
I'd try KSAN (Lindbergh) in San Diego, California.
Good luck with that. I don't think the compatibility mode for Windows 7 goes far enough back to handle DOS programs. Hell I even have trouble getting FS98 to work reliably. It crashes all the...
If you have FS2004 you can just copy-paste the aircraft files from those. You just need to add a JPEG image to the texture file folders for the sim to use as a thumbnail. I think there may be a...
Hey, thanks for the reply!
I was afraid of that. Oh well. You're probably right, an exterior model and set of exterior texture files wouldn't do very much good without the interior model, panel,...
Is there a way to convert the static scenery aircraft into flyable aircraft? I'm trying to yank the Helio Stallion from the Reno Air Race and convert it into a user aircraft for my own personal use....
So is it possible to do the reverse? I'd like to see if I can yank the L-39s from the Reno scenery and make them into flyable aircraft. No distribution or upload, just my own personal use.
I think that may have been a glitch in the traffic file for that mission. It is quite an incredible sight to see him do that though.
A few other things I noticed:
In the jet truck drag race...
The DC-5 actually did fly. Although Douglas only got 12 orders (because of WWII), the airplane did get off the ground and into operational use. As for measuring its commercial success, it went over...
The Dash 80 was not the only 5-engined design to fly. In World War I, the Germans built a series of massive 5- and 6-engine bombers. A modified B-17 also flew with a turboprop engine in place of...
Thanks. 1 question, though: Did they fit an S-duct (727 style), or did the engine just go straight through the tail fin (DC-10 style)?.
Can you find and post a picture of the 5-engine version? I have heard about it but have not seen a photo.
Boeing's website says that the center engine was mounted on the original (Dash 80)...
