  1. I have been able to get FS2000 to work on windows 10 just fine. It also helps to use a wrapper like dgVooDoo. In my testing FS2000 does not like any resolution above 1080p. So stick with 1080P or lower and it should eliminate a lot of problems regarding graphics.
  2. I just acquired Volume 1, 2 and 3 from a eBay lot, didn't even think to look if they worked for FS2002. Considering how old these addons are and how hard they are getting to find I think us flight simmers have an obligation to start uploading them to places like archive.org.
  3. I often revisit old games and like to see how far I can push the graphics on modern machines sometimes using emulation like dgvoodoo2, nglide.. ect. I love seeing those old graphics the way they were never meant to be seen in crystal clear 1080P or 1440P. A few weeks ago I decided to take a break from MSFS (2020) and got some nostalgia for FS2000 just messing around with some scenery design and flying the 777. While doing that and trying to find panel upgrades and such I came across the PSS 777. I thought it would be fun to learn on but it is nowhere to be found online. I finally found a box copy on ebay that has the 747 and 777. To my surprise it has the installer for FS2000 and FS2002. After having marginal success with my modern Win 10 64bit machine running FS2000 I decided to try FS2002. :)
  4. I just installed FS2002 this afternoon. It's the first time I have "played" the sim since July 2003 when FS2004 was released! With NvidiaInspector I have it running full screen at 1080P, 120+ FPS with anti aliasing 32x and anisotropic filtering 16x. Looks crisp! I doesn't give me an option (in sim) or like it when I try to force 1440P in the CFG file. The sim runs but the screen is just black unless I go into window mode and shrink it down unfortunately.. because the sim looks great even in 1080P.
  5. Yes you can. Use a program like WinCDEmu to create a .iso file of the CD/DVD. It can then be mounted and appear as a CD in a virtual drive. Games install ALOT faster this way also!
  6. Just wondering if anyone has this old FS2000 add-on by Pheonix simulation software/Just Flight that they would be willing to sell or send a download copy? (not sure if it was released later as freeware or not) I can't seem to find it anywhere but would love to have it.
  7. Thanks to jacilore for sending me his fs2000.exe. I was able to launch FS2000 and have it finish the setup process so I could finally run the program. Seems to work flawless on Win7 32-bit. Win10 64-bit takes a little more trial and error. The easiest way was to install/run/update/run FS2000 on a Win7 machine and then copy and replace the install folder on the Win10 PC. I have to use dgvoodoo2 for FS2000 to run in hardware acceleration mode as FS2000 doesn't seem to play nice with my modern GPU. Running in full screen and trying to switch back or get to the menu bar causes problems with black screens/cockpits resulting in just having it start the sim over again. It's a shame because it only seems to run at 22-23 FPS in windowed mode. I am able however to force 16x anisocoric and 8x antialiasing at any resolution up to 1440P resulting in a crisp image. :)
  8. I have tried Run as administrator, compatibility settings.. ect. I did try the scan once with no luck. I could re-install and give that another go. I even get the error with the NO-CD patch (which is basically a must) since most old games do not work without them now.
  9. I have a rather strange problem when trying to run FS2000 on Win7 32-bit. When launching the program I get the error message "C:\FS2000\FS2000.EXE is not a valid Win32 application." This is on a laptop but I also have a PC running Win7 32-bit for the sole purpose of old games and this is a first when it comes to not wanting to run an older game. So this is rather strange. I am guessing the problem is with the .exe file? I've tried it on Windows 10 64-bit also but I get the "This app cant run on your PC" error. Yet FS for Windows 95 and FS98 launch and run just fine..
  10. An obvious oversight from back in the day :( To bad it didn't get fixed even with the patch. Although I'm sure I am the only one wanting to really fly this model right now haha.
  11. I decided to install FS9 for the first time in 10+ years. I wanted to fly the 777 but noticed the spoiler animation/polygon is off, has it always been like this? I even put it in FSX and it is the same. I loaded it into model converter X just to show what I mean. As you can see it is floating above the wing.
  12. From what I have seen in some videos, I think they are the same.
