  1. Hi, Thanks to 'Scottish Mike' for a really interesting Post. I too flew FS9 (still do - often) for about 20 yrs as a preference to any of the other Sims (even though I'd had them all and some!) I was persuaded by some very helpful Simmers here & elsewhere to try FS2020 - something I was probably sure to do because history had shown, I'd bought all the others along the way:-) Your Post hi-lighted many reasons for sticking with the old FS9 but most importantly of all, it actually demonstrated what a wonderful Flight Simulator (Game) FS2004/FS9 was right 'Out of the Box'. Hats off to the original creators! I do now fly FS2020 often, but not more often, than the planned Simulations I fly with FS9. I can easily recreate many famous flights I read of; or those flown by my father and his generation during WWII (we owe that generation so much!) But I can and do, regularly, recreate flights I've flown in the real world, in oh so many places, and even with this 20 year old Sim have hours of enjoyment - and a lot of 'learning' whilst doing so:-) Thanks again for your excellent Post! Regards, Blue.
  2. Hi All, Are there any Members here that have tried this model please? Regards, Blue
  3. Hi Edjoe, I too have problems with elevator trim in MSFS. This has never been (nor is) a problem with my other Sims (FS9/FSX/P3D etc). I've been Simming since the early days (and flying aircraft since my later teens - ie. decades) so I don't think it's me :-) I am happy to be corrected on that however, as one is never too old to learn:-) All a/c - including Payware Flying Iron Spitfire - seem affected; and the trimming seems to bear no resemblance to real world nor my other Sims as stated. All that said, I've been exceptionally lucky compared to many other users of MSFS, if all the Post here and elsewhere are a measure of the problems others have experienced. Mine - to date - has updated/loaded fine from day one. That's not to say the trimming issue isn't a tad annoying however ;-) I look forward to the observations of others. Regards, Blue
  4. Hi Yvan, My sympathy and unfortunately little else that is of practical help, although PLEASE - do persevere:-) I am a Computer Numpty and although I've tried practically ALL the flight Sims out there since about 1984 AND done a fair bit of real flying I had, until very recently, always returned to my trusty MS Flight Sim 9. It did ALL I wanted to do in flight Simming & as said, I've bought and tried virtually all the OTHERS :-) However, very recently I bought the NEW MSFS and have to say (luckily) have had no real problems...... Clearly there is a steep learning curve - I'm still on that BUT, again I ask that you persevere! It really WILL be worthwhile AND, frankly, I think whatever your problem is - it is not likely to be the Sim. I have all sorts of reasons for thinking that and to be fair, little hard technical evidence - I'm a Computer Numpty remember ;-) Your problems are likely to be simple settings or similar simple things somewhere - maybe in your Windows or other settings on your Computer. It is very easy, reading some of the Post on Sim Forums, to become disenchanted BUT - almost all the problems people have with getting their MSFS to run are simple. Keep at it - read all you can and be methodical. You will get there, many thousands - Nay, millions ARE flying and enjoying this Sim...... and there really is a LOT to enjoy! Good Luck Phil
  5. Thanks from me too Tom. You probably know that lots of other people glean heaps of information from talented individuals like yourself, on the Forum. I just wanted to let you know your help is appreciated in the wider sense. Kind Regards,
  6. Hello again All, I de-activated MalWareBytes and downloaded the FSUIPC V3.999z9b as suggested and besided all going smoothly I am also happy not to have any 'Nasties' with the file - Well, you can't be too careful :-) Updating here just incase some other computer dunderhead like myself is struggling to understand ;-0 Many thanks again. Blue
  7. Hello Again All, My sincere thanks to all who responded and indeed provided good evidence of their observations - that was really important as MalwareBytes was recommended by my Bank and I know quite innocent sites can be targeted by these 'Nasties'. I shall de-activate the M software and Download the program. Again, many thanks to you all and the Forum in general for providing this facility, for those of us with little technical Computer knowledge, help like this is most appreciated. Regards, Blue
  8. Hi All, I've been trying to download the FSUIPC 3.999z9 from Pete Dowson site, 'fsuipc.com'. However, keep getting a Trojan warning from my MalWareBytes Premium Software. Clearly I'm loath to ignore a Trojan Warning - does anyone have any idea how I can contact Mr Dowson please? I thought his support was hosted here but I guess with age I'm confused - Again!.... :-) (Any links at his site produce a warning if 'Clicked' on. ) Regards, Blue
