  1. I'm not certain but I believe you either get a free update through the launcher or you simply already have it installed but its just locked. Again, I'm not sure but that is generally how software works.
  2. Your CPU isn't bad, just old. Since you are just wanting to upgrade your GPU at this time grab a GTX 1660Ti. The 1660Ti isn't expensive at all and when you feel the need to upgrade your whole Rig you do so without buyer's remorse.
  3. It is legal to buy but illegal to sell. The account used will already exist. You have no choice in the matter You will most likely need a MS Account You can set the cache to what ever drive you want, I THINK. I know you can install the sim on whatever drive you want, not sure on the cache.
  4. Daemon Tools is also pretty popular. Wow! An actual legit reason to use the software. :D
  5. Did you read the whole page? Its a shared account with no online access. Its garbage. Just buy the sim on Xbox Game Pass for $1.00.
  6. I say; give FS2020 some time. Its brand new and needs time for addons to show up. Frankly, I don't see any reason to play FSX anymore other than the immense availability of addons.
  7. Don't forget to drop by Brooklyn for a slice or two! ;)
  8. I got the email this morning. Since ordering ORBX scenery for FSX I subscribed to all their launch info. Looks like a pleasant flight to charter but its not my style. Waiting on other scenery from them.
  9. If you buy an official Xbox wireless controller you need the Xbox USB dongle. Its $20.00. They claim you can run on Bluetooth but the controller kicks off Bluetooth once a game starts. I learned that the hard way and bought the dongle. Works 100% now. You'll be happier wireless despite the additional cost though.
  10. From what I've seen on the forums here Xbox Series X will run better than most of the PC's on here. Sure people with a Series X will probably just play it casually with the controller, but who cares? That is enjoyable to some while others want total sim atmosphere.
  11. I have a 3800X and it runs the sim well. Considering your desired resolution I would bump up to an RTX 2080 Super. An RTX 2070 Super should run the sim fine at standard 1440p but you'll most likely have to compromise on some of the eye candy. Again, you should really go for an RTX 2080 Super at an ultrawide 1440p setting.
  12. I would go with the model with 16GB of RAM. Most modern games only use 8GB-16GB of RAM and if you're wanting to play more demanding titles its best to have a better performing CPU as well. Going with 32GB of RAM is really overkill and wouldn't make any sense with a budget CPU.
  13. I have a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS myself and found the in-game calibration to be exceptional. It automatically applied all the buttons as if I was flying the A-10C. To custom calibrate your HOTAS go into Controls and their should be an option on top of the screen to select which part of your HOTAS you want to calibrate. From there you should see a picture of your device with a bunch of dedicated numbers telling you which button is what. Then go into whatever you want to calibrate, Primary Flight Controls, Autopilot, etc. and select the button you want to calibrate with the Input selection. Select the number that corrisponds with the picture of your device and select the button number from the Input selection and press Validate. That did the trick for me. It was a little confusing at first but once you figure it out its quite intuitive.
  14. Assuming you live in the USA I have put together a list of parts for you, minus the PC case and OS. The total is $869.94. With this configuration you should be able to play at 1080p. 15. Thanks for your input. For 4K I, personally, would fork over the cash for at least a RTX 2080Super. I'm running at 1440p though on Ultra with a 3800X, 32GB of RAM and a Radeon VII. I hover around 40FPS with about 10GB of RAM being used. I'm giving input based on my experience with MS2020. If I was playing at 4K I would not settle for anything less than a RTX 2080 Super. That is just my informed opinion.
