  1. I purchased the IFR and enjoyed it so much that I purchased the VFR when it became available. Very useful even for skills that I thought I already had. The lessons let me do some tasks over and over until I get them right. For example timed turns etc, etc Both recommended
  2. when you activate the FP (flight plan screen) on the PFC how do you scroll it? I cant seem to find the right control (MSFS 2020) Steve
  3. I am confused about the difference in function between the flight controller vs the autopilot buttons. I know the flight controller is the "brains" (calculations) and the autopilot is the "brawn" (servo controllers) but I am never sure in what order to press or whether all have to be pressed (for example combo of VS, Nav, FC, AP etc, etc). Have watch a hundred You tubes and still not sure) Thanks Steve
  4. Quick question - I have premium and all is well post patch so far- no issues with base install. The Japan update is a separate download. How big is it and where does it reside. My FS is on C: drive and is 1 TB and I rarely fly Japan (how about never so far…) . Can you just leave it uninstalled for some later day when you have an urge to see Mt Fuji?? Thanks Steve
  5. I have a button controller that needs to see the executable for the simulator. I know how to take ownership of winapps , but there are suggestions on the web that doing so will cause problems elsewhere. Is that so? IF so is there a different solution such as just giving me permission in addition to windows to access the folder? Help appreciated Steve
  6. I do wear glesses but have good correction I have a 27" HDR screen by Viewsonic. In Pilots eye view I still find it difficult to see instuments, esp G1000 clearly. I cant believe I am alone in this, Switching back and forth to instrument view (even with buttons set on my yoke) is very distracting esp with ILS approach. Other than a much bigger monitor, are there other solutions? I also have a 24" that I move the map and ATC windows to. Any help appreciated. Steve
  7. Is it working well with MSFS? Will it kill my FPS? How does putting it on another machine work. Why is that a good idea? Thanks Steve
  8. I know the glass cockpit MFC is a Garmin G1000, but I am having trouble identifying the non-glass C172 garmin- I think it is a G430. I have been flying the 172 and 152. Are the avionics different in other single engine props? are there other manufacturers/models present. Am teaching myself a bit of IFR flying and am looking to letter learn how they work Steve
  9. I run a 27" IPS LED panel and am having a bit of trouble seeing the instruments except in Instrunet view. The characters are big enough and have great resolution but the panel is dark. I have a calibrated monitor (photography). Is that a general problem? I have to turn on the panel lights in daytime. Don't think its my eyes.... Steve
  10. I have the same issue when moving window to a separate monitor. I work around this by using numerical options for atc ,but on map or navlog , I pause the flight use the window and then make sure my mouse pointer is back on the main window and unpause. Very annoying and hope it will get fixed. Steve
  11. I wonder why they buried it at all in the MS store version only! They didn't in the Steam version, its readily accessible. Makes no sense why they would only make it inaccessible to a portion of the installed base. Steve
  12. I can easily take ownership of the Winapps folder. There seem to be cautions about doing this on the net. Is there any downside to taking ownership or effects on other programs in the files. I just want to be able to point another program to the executable so that I can set up a config file for my Contour shuttle. Steve
  13. I have MSFS 2020 installed. Most of my key mapping has been painless. I have several USB peripherals. One of them is a contour shuttle which will send programmed keystrokes as if from a keyboard. It has approx 15 buttons and two dials and would be fantastic fantastic for radio tuning and GPS. Unfortunately, to configure it you need to know where the flight sim exe file is so you can point to that file. I dont need access to the file , just need to know the address It seems that if you purchased from Steam, it is not a problem. The files are not hidden. If you purchased from the Microsoft store the files and folders are hidden and you dont have access. A little frustrated as the Steam purchasers have full access but Microsoft customers do not. Any solutions?? Steve
