  1. If you are only thinking of going to Xplane short-term, then I would just keep flying FSX until you are confident FS2020 is worth a try. If you like what you see in FS2020, then Xplane will be a big disappointment. Xplane default scenery and weather looks like something from the 1980's compared to FS2020. Xplane has no default missions, there may be some you can download, I am not aware of them as I don't fly missions. What Xplane does have is good flight dynamics, some great study-level planes to fly, and less bugs as the latest version has been out for 3 years and is mature. The trick here is if you have been smitten by the look of MS2020, then Xplane will be a big disappointment visually unless you plan on creating and downloading many terabytes of Orbx scenery. Just so you know, Xplane is my current flightsim, has been for 3 years, I am not an MSFS fanboy, I am not an Xplane fanboy, and similar to you am keeping my options open for MS2020/Xplane 12 in the future. Have you contacted Carenado about this, they may need to update their c90 to accommodate the new fuel system modelling LR made in 11.36. When 11.36 came out, I had to start managing the fuel system in order not to have fuel starvation issues or warnings, before than I could ignore fuel other than quantity as the fuel system wasn't modelled at all.

I am speaking of the default C90, Carenado may be modelling the fuel system differently. FWIW, on the default C90, I have boost pumps on from engine startup to shutdown(not sure this is realistic but Xplane seems to need them on at all times); transfer pumps are in auto only if I have fuel in the wing tanks. Once fuel drops below approximately 61 gallons, I get NO-FUEL-XFR warnings, which means the wing tanks are dry and all remaining fuel is in the nacelle tanks, so I turn the transfer pumps off. One thing I do is keep crossfeed off, I was getting some anomalies with it in auto or on. There is a video from King Air Academy that actually pushes the concept of keeping crossfeed off for better situational awareness should a fuel pump issue arise. Anyhow, doing it this way I have had 3 hour flights in the default C90 with no issues. IanQ

Sounds like fuel isn't getting to the engines. LR made changes recently to the C90, the fuel system is now fully modelled, so it is important to use the boost and transfer pumps as per POH. If you don't have the transfer pumps on, even though you have the boost pumps on and plenty of fuel, no fuel is going to get transferred from wing tanks to nacelle, and the engines only get fuel from the nacelle tanks. That could be the issue... IanQ
  5. FD2S is a 737 captain in real life, and he states the zibo mod feels more like the real plane than the PMDG model did, specifically in how the plane flies. At the present, I think there are 7 real life 737 pilots, a 787 captain, and a few other real life pilots helping zibo with the development of the zibo mod 737-800. I have never used the pmdg model, my understanding is that their model from the systems side is more advanced than the zibo mod, ie: more of the FMC works than currently is available in the zibo mod; zibo is slowly getting everything coded and in place, it will just take a while as he is basically the only programmer for the zibo mod, and anyone who has read the fcom for the B738 knows that the FMS is a massively complex system. BTW, the zibo mod is completely free, that is worth a mention. As for Xplane versus Prepare3D versus FSX, etc, etc, yup, might as well argue over Ford versus Chevy versus Dodge...
  6. Here I was, reading your response, and thinking Wow, for the first time flytv1 isn't going to bash Xplane, but alas, your last paragraph did what you always do, tell everyone just how bad Xplane is. I have no idea why you continue to hang around in the Xplane forum considering how much you hate the product, wouldn't it be more productive for you (and better for us Xplane users) to hang out in a forum for a sim you like, such as FSX? If not, maybe the forum moderator needs to have a word with you, you really are ruining it for the rest of us...
  7. Watch the flightdeck2sim videos on Youtube. He used to fly the PMDG 737 and then switched to the Zibomod for more realistic flight characteristics.
