  1. There is another app, the VFRMap utility which shows your plane on a moving map and works great. You can also select a map location and immediately teleport there at a selected altitude. Runs in the browser, and looks great. https://www.msfsaddons.org/freeware/plugin-VFRMap Sent from my SM-A515F using Tapatalk
  2. This is really great, I will be practicing with this from now on. Thanks a lot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. That's awesome. Can you please share the flight plan and details. I really want to learn using autopilot/instruments/navigation. 2ndly, for cabin view, open camera panel and go to the preset views on the 3rd tab (after cockpit and external) and I believe it's the last 2 settings. 4. I use a similar app, the VFRMap utility without any issues and is great. You can select a map location and immediately teleport there at a selected altitude. Runs in the browser, and looks great. Sent from my SM-A515F using Tapatalk
  5. As creating mappings for older joysticks is a common issue currently, maybe forum admins can create a sticky with install instructions and downloadable profiles for all controllers which users can share. I created and shared a profile for the Saitek AV8R on another thread. Having said that, does anyone have an X45 joystick and throttle profile file they can share? It would be great not having to map all the buttons.
  6. It should be in the preset views in the camera section. Open the camera panel from the inflight menu and check the presets. You may also be able to use the drone cam and position it. Sent from my SM-A515F using Tapatalk
  7. Some Instruments (mainly glass panels) can also be replicated to a 2nd monitor. I believe you right alt+mouse over them till it changes to a zoom + sign, then left click +drag them to the other screen. Sent from my SM-A515F using Tapatalk
  8. I am running on a Dell Precision with a Quadro video card. 9th gen i7, 32GB RAM, 512GB SSD. Your friend can get a Dell Xps with Nvidia RTX to get the best performance. Sent from my SM-A515F using Tapatalk
  9. Maybe I am missing something, but am having some difficulty reading the numbers on the cockpit panels. In FSX we could have a full screen cockpit view without the 3D instruments panel. Can we do that in FS2020? Maybe like how the FS2020 external view is with easy to read panel readouts. The 3D cockpit makes instruments kind of hard to read without zooming in, and this is on a 28-in monitor. I know we can move them to a 2nd monitor and resize, but can we make the front view full screen without the panels? Sent from my SM-A515F using Tapatalk
  10. Yes sure let me know how it goes. Sent from my SM-A515F using Tapatalk
  11. Once you update your profile, and all is ok, here are the mappings. Not all buttons are mapped yet, but you can add more as you like. Hat Switch: Change POV in cockpit/external views. To reduce the speed of the POV cameras, go to Options -> General -> Camera and change Zoom/Freelook Speed for both cockpit/external cameras to 10. Axes: X: aileron Y: elevator R: Rudder (handle twist) 1. Trigger: Brake 2. Red button: camera switch - cockpit, external 3. Middle big button: external view focus 4. Right button: Landing gear toggle Red Switch: Mode A 5. T1: flaps decrease 6. T2: flaps increase 7. T3: Elevator trim (nose down) 8. T4. Elevator trim (nose up) 9. T5. Aileron trim (turn right) 10. T6. Aileron trim (turn left) 11. T7. Active Pause toggle
  12. av84profile.txt Attached my profile for the AV8R joystick. It was in the following folder (this is the Windows Store version FS2020, not Steam): C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs\0009000000A24FF2_00000000000000000000000069F80140\30AE2E26EA044B7CAAE1AAFE4A60A395 You will need to use the actual file and folder names in your FS2020 install folder. 1. Go to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs\0009000000A24FF2_00000000000000000000000069F80140 folder and take a screenshot of the existing folders. 2. In FS2020, create a new profile for the AV8R controller. Save it and exit. 2. Go to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs\0009000000A24FF2_00000000000000000000000069F80140 folder and look for a newly created folder (other than the ones from Step 1). 3. In that new folder you will see a file with a long alphanumeric name, like F690BCAD75ED4149A403B9059B4EB48A, and a container.x (some number). Open the alphanumeric named file in a text editor, and replace it's contents with contents of the attached profile file. 4. Save and close the file 5. Go to FS2020 and check the newly created Av8R profile again, it should have all the mappings.
  13. I will try to share my AV8R profile which had the basic controls mapped. Took me a while to make it. It has: Camera switch, internal/external Camera view HAT/POV Flight controls, flaps, landing gear Trims, elevator and aileron Active pause Throttle Rudder
