  1. I'm so disappointed in a recent mission package (NMG Rescue Air 911 Mission Pack 1.0.1) that I would like to propose a change. A lot of time, and talent is wasted in the process of reviewing, downloading, and installing a mission only to be disappointed by its not functioning. That was the case with referenced mission. The problems are NOT bugs in development but simple failure by the author(s) to make the most cursory effort at functionality before posting. I would like to propose a "Test" process where users would fly submitted missions BEFORE they are offered for general distribution. Users could comment on problems and other inconsistencies and correspond with author in their correction. This would also improve dialogue between users, maybe draw more users to site and generally prove to be a Win/Win for us all. Please vote your preference and/or ideas on associated poll. It will remain active for 60 days and until 04/25/2024. Thank you all.

This mission generally depicts the infamous flight of United Air 328 on 20 February, 2021. It begins on the ground at the gate of Denver International (KDEN). KDEN is 5431 feet above sea level, so you need all the help you can muster on takeoff. In real life UA328 lost #1 engine shortly after liftoff with a full payload of passengers, fuel and cargo. Thus your job is to get the plane back safely on the ground and save the 241 souls on board. You will taxi to Rwy 26 and takeoff following ATC instructions. You will maintain runway heading and climb to 9000'. After engine loss and declaring an emergency, ATC will direct you to the runway of your choice. But choose carefully for the best wind advantage. Goals required for mission completion are: - Complete a 180* turn with single engine - Achieve 9000' on heading 080* - Intercept the IF (Initial Fix) at FUZZZ - Intercept the FAF (Final Approach Fix) at GRASP - Perform full stop landing with single engine power ReadMeUa328.txt
  3. Check out FSXMissionsHangar.com if you're wanting any details on Mission Creation. It literally has over 10 years of documented experiences, tutorials, guidance and MANY Missions of all categories.
  4. I'm a "Missions" freak, since you can include all of the above likes within one. I'll also say that Jim Keir's SimVar is the most underrated addon I know of. Simply put it gives you access to the "hundreds" of Sim variables not otherwise accessible via Property Triggers. With the OPT (FSX's included Object Placement Tool) coupled with SimVar, the sky is literally the limit for any Challenge, Tutorial, Scenic, or Just For Fun flight. Check it out you won't be disappointed, as I am with FS2020, which still lack the same capabilities, 4 years after release.
  5. I have to wonder why after 4 years since its release, we still have no Mission Development OPT (Object Placement Tool) GUI similar to FSX. I think they are really missing the boat with this omission. I realize you can still make Missions (BushTrips), but you can NOT access the hundreds of sim variables needed to create "challenging" interactive flights, like the Landing Challenges of FS2020. I'm really disappointed in this and have no intention putting more $$$ into an incomplete simulator... My two bits!

This mission is a CHALLENGE for ADVANCED users. It depicts the actual crash of flight 129 and tests your piloting skills in Fuel and Schedule management, as well as circling to land in minimum visibility weather.... the REAL conditions that contributed to the accident. The mission begins on the ground at the gate of Beijing International (ZBAA). You will taxi to Rwy 18L and takeoff following clearance. You will maintain runway heading, climb to 1000', then resume own navigation. Your flight plan is loaded into GPS and you may use auto-pilot if desired. Navigate the 10 waypoints to Gimhai International in Busan, South Korea. About 20 miles from RKPK, you are cleared for a circling approach to Rwy 18R. You will perform an ILS approach to 36L, then circle back to 18R, while keeping the runway in sight The mission requires SimVar (by Jim Keir), an extension for FSX and is included in the mission package. For more Mission Challenges like this, visit us at FSXMissionsHangar.com.
  7. It's hard to compete with all the new and maintained flight sims published since 2006... yep FSX is approaching 20 years of age and that in itself speaks well for its appeal to us users. While I understand MS's latest offering, I can't understand ASOBO's inability (or unwillingness) to publish a SDK that gives users an interface for mission building. As a result, I've all but lost interest in simulation altogether, along with the members of my site, FSXMissionsHangar.com. Our site has been around for over a decade and remains self sustained and ad free. It also has a wealth of information about FSX, has hundreds of missions, and a plethora of info on mission building. Only a handful of supporting members remain active, yet I'm reluctant to put up the $100+ per year needed to continue the site's hosting and security. If anyone here is willing to take over the helm or even work with me to transfer all the site's content here for preservation, please let me know. You may also register at the site (free) if you're simply interested in its offerings. We're financed by $10/year contributions from a few supporting members, in exchange for their access to our HQ missions. All other features of the site are otherwise free to any registered member. Thanks for reading offering any ideas you may have for the site. We'll be OFF line the end of March of 2024. Jake, Admin and founder of FSXMissionsHangar.com
  8. This is an outstanding array of challenging landings...thanks Andy.
