  1. Hi Bill, I have an issue I have been battling for almost two years. I have MSFS2020 and it works fine but I am unable to access the MSFS2020 forum and they are unable to address this apparent classical issue reported by others. Each time I attempt to log in or sign up immediately get the infamous message: "The software powering this discussion forum encountered an unexpected problem. We apologize for the inconvenience. Detailed information about the error was logged, and an automatic notification generated. We'll take a look at it. No further action is necessary. However, if the error condition persists, you can provide additional detail, including steps to reproduce the error, by posting a discussion topic in the site's feedback category". This error code was originally reported by many in early 2022. It seems to be MS account related but no real means to fix it. Microsoft is no help and the Zendesk at the forum isn't really either. They blame MS. You seem to likely be well versed in these issues and wondering if you could offer some suggestions. I I have tried all I know and could find to remedy but to no avail. My MSFS2020 is completely recognized by MS and I can purchase from the Marketplace inside MDFS without issues but to get to the forum is impossible. Thanks Jerry 10/02 as well!
  2. much thanks i know about the scammer and the downlod here scam thanks Nels
  3. Just thought about something about the issue. Is it possible that the forum site does not accept or is any some way incompatible with Firefox browser? I have never attempted to use the MS "bing" thing browser? Maybe?
  4. I am unable to even register since I keep getting the stupid Oops page that tells you nothing. may as well be a 404! That site is pathetic from my experience, certainly compared to this well working forum.
  5. Thanks for the reply especially the info on the support from the creator. Too bad I feel about the lack of support at the MSFS forum. I misstated one of the issues I mentioned, its the VNAV non support that is missing. The G1000 is not fully modeled including VNAV as no altitude can be programmed into the G1000 nor will it support vertical stipulations when using pre-established approaches. Maybe a fix later.
  6. But that huge download banner is an ad for something entirely different. The advertised download link for the plane is apparently a pathetic trick to get one to another group of scammers to purchase their wears. Thanks for responding but I think it likely doesn't exist or anything close to freeware.
  7. This is a very nice looking plane for MSFS2020 and its Freeware but I cannot see to find a download link on any of the sites claiming to have it? Thanks
  8. TO ALL WHO RESPONDED MUCH THANKS I cannot recall how this was purchased, but believe it was a link. Pretty certain I used a CC and could research who the vendor was. Pathetic ugh? To address some of the questions in the replies: Log in to the official M/S simulator forum: It is quite possible the account issue was due to computer name assigned to the Admin, me and possibly did not have a M/S account at that time. The purchased was linked to an email address that I use seldom but active. There is no question about and fairly certain that email address was indeed associated to a M/S account that was created shortly after installing MSFS 2020. The name that appears on the sim screen at the top right is part of the email address which is the user name. That user name was never used as a M/S account, that I am certain of. That email address never worked with the official M/S simulator log in. Recently in an attempt to address this log in issue myself, I created another M/S account which worked logging into M/S but not the sim. This was done to check the password and user name/email address of the new account. As I understand it, a M/S account is really necessary to log into the official forum but any suggestions that can be made regarding how to simply start over with a new account for the form that works would be nice to know. I believe the forum associates my unique MAC address with any new name I use which may originally been captures and will always kick me out. A real mystery indeed. Plane purchased through Market Place inside of MSFS2020: Mustang C510 by Cockspur was on sale under $20. Flew this in FS9 and FS10 and really missed it with 2020. Without access to the forum, there isn't much I can do but the primary issue with the plane I corrected yesterday afternoon, which was a wierd camera setting under instruments called shadow hide ?? which totally by accident I stumbled on it. The other issues are in the plane genetics which might get fixed, no RNAV support, poor modeling of the Garmin 1000 flight plan programming, no altitude selector on AP panel requires 10K turns to get a 1000' change in set altitude and no modeling of the altitude adjust on the Gamin 1000. Enough of that for now... Thanks so much again and let me know if there is anything that can be offered with the M/S msfs2020 forum log in please. I'm not going to jump in that Discord cesspool.
  9. I have MSFS2020 which I purchased from Microsoft about 1 1/2 years ago. I have been using it without issues and have enjoyed it very much. The only issue I have encountered it getting signed up and logged in to the Microsoft Flight Sim forum. I have never been able to get signed up. I have no idea what is wrong and have been unable to get anyone but a robot to respond with automatic responses all of which I have tried without success. There is simply no support there with account issues signing up. I have been a member of various SIM forums since before FS9 was released and never had this much trouble with any of them. Is this forum sponsored by Microsoft or have anything to do with Microsoft? Maybe I should complain to Microsoft. I am really stumped and don't know what to do. The most pressing issue is that I purchased an add-on plane that I need to remove then attempt to reinstall but no clue how to do this. This forum recommends joining the Discord Chat group to contact the developer of the plane but Discord sounds to me like its a bunch of chat crazed folks who love to this form of social media with endlessly chat. That is noting I have any interest in joining but with no access to the MSFS2020 foum I am limited to get the info I need or a refund. Can anyone advise me how to go about removing the plane possibly from the community folder and reinstalling without hacking my install of MSFS2020. I would appreciate any input regarding any Microsoft support I could turn to for assistance in getting the MSFS2020 forum account info fixed. Thanks very much
  10. Please see the attached showing a repeated error that I get when adding or modifying waypoints in FLP screen, primarily the crossed out elevation I have set at the waypoint. The point is a few miles from the previous point along the flight path but the ALT set in the appropriate field is apparently not applicable? Why is this? On another subject, I believe that I was able to move the map in the MFD to locate other waypoints or intersections I might choose to add to the plan. I cannot seem to find that feature again. Does this not exist as a feature in the G1000ixe which is my default in aircraft with the g1000? Thanks
  11. When using either SIM Brief or the built-in flight planner in MSFS2020, it seems if a standard terminal departure is entered into the plan discontinuity will result in the first leg which prevents the plan from being created or flown. The discontinuity can neither be cleared or modified. Not setting a departure procedure in the plan will eliminate this error. It's also not uncommon to find another discontinuity along the route which however can be cleared from the plan enabling full normal process of the plan to the destination runway. Hopefully, these are fixes in progress. At times during the flight with established cruse speeds below the maximum of the plane, suddenly the airspeed will increase beyond the maximum allowed for that altitude triggering the over-speed warning requiring immediate intervention. I have primarily fly the CRJ-4 with its Collins FMS. Perhaps this is something connected with this mod, otherwise the I have had no issues but these. The FMS works perfectly and would seem as close to real world as possible except for the items above. I also use RNAV approaches regularly without issues which provide glide path accuracy dead on down to and below minimums at the runway threshold before taking over control from the auto pilot. It's quite interesting to watch both azimuth and vertical guidance steps along the plan and at the approach. Much thanks to CorporatePilotDad for some excellent videos and assistance! Is there a native flight recorder in MSFS2020? If so, can it be started and stopped at anytime along a flight? If it there is one but it's limited can someone recommend a one with this capability. Thanks
  12. Once the flight plan is established with all arrivals and navaids, the large labels place on the map make it impossible to view the routing depicted on the map. Is there any way to eliminate these labels as I find them more of an annoyance than an aid. Unable to upload the screen shot I took to illustrate due to limitation with my phone. Thanks
  13. Tim, Thanks for your comments and assistance. I have done quite a bit of digging and now clearly understand the location of the Community folder and the proper installation steps to install the Working Mod for the CJ4. The mod works and I'm fully involved in understanding the proper steps from this mod to use RNAV. I did notice that after inserting the CJ4 mod, there are NO other CJ4's offered in the livery. That's OK because none of them seems to map the RNAV functions to real world functionality to the extent of the CJ4 mod but just wanted to mention this as to this being normal behavior after installing the mod. Thanks
  14. Tim again thanks but the directory structure/file locations of the MSFS2020 do not appear anywhere that i have been able to find this far. I knew the location of these files on my hard drive using FSX. The working title guide does not provide this info for a standard Win10 install. I’m basically stuck otherwise. Much thanks!
  15. Thanks Tim where are these files located on the hard drive and which ones should be deleted. Don’t want to screw up the version I have. Thanks
