It is on C:\FSX now, it was in program files originally. You are right, my old laptop crashes sometimes because it can't really support the game. But it works and usually I can get the whole flight out of it. And I take my laptop on the road with me.

1) Nope, I log-in to PMDG site and my orders come up automatically. I click on Order ID and Individual order shows up (-400) and it allows me to download the product. But as MR Zippy previously said, I might have to uninstall -400 on my old PC first. 2) How do I take "ownership of the file" if that will allow me to keep -400 on the old PC. Max

- I still have PMDG -400 on the old PC. But WiFi is off on it. It should not know that I'm installing on the other PC. I'm afraid to uninstall it on the old one, what if I won't be able to install it again. - I did install SP1 and 2 on new PC. - I bought and downloaded -400 from PMDG website back in 2012. I also was able to download -400 file from PMDG website a week ago to a new laptop. I saved e-mail that came in 2012 with ID and other information. - I've read the info about Win10 on PMDG site and since it came with PC, that might be the reason it does not work. I upgraded Win8 to Win10 on old PC. - Here's the message I get when I try to validate -400. Max

Yep, I read it, I have Win 10, that came with laptop. Looks like that is the reason why it doesn't work. My old laptop had Win 8 originally and I upgraded it to Win10. And PMDG -400, B777 and MD-11 worked almost great, crashed in mid flight some times. I guess I'll have to use my old laptop. Thanks any way, Max

Hi Brian, I placed FSX front page that says Steam edition. I downloaded it from two CDs. They don't say Steam Edition though. The -400 add-on I bought and downloaded from PMDG. I looked at PMDG website with compatibility. -400 doesn't work with Win 10. On my old laptop I upgraded Win to 10 myself, maybe that's why PMDG works. But it crashes a lot. Thank you Brian, I have Visual C++ 2008, but installed 32 and 64 bit anyway. Did as you instructed but still showing error when I try to activate -400. My FSX shows steam addition, would it be any different if I install STEAM from their website? Max

This is what I have in properties. In security it does not show Windows 10, it is set on Vista with SP1/2 but I can change it to Win7 or 8 only. In the Readme file it says: After installation, this installer will launch a redistributable file for VS2008 that is REQUIRED for this product to run. I do not remember if it prompted me to do that or not, And where do I find it if it did not? Max

The sim starts fine. I reinstalled FSX like Brian suggested above, tried both things that he offered, reinstalled FSX but can't activate my PMDG B747-400, B777 says it can not load on this PC. i have not tried MD-11 yet.
