  1. Hello all! I'm currently using FSX Steam Edition and planning to change to P3Dv5 in the near future. I'm happy to see that most of the add-ons I use in FSX are compatible (in some way or another) with P3D. Except the CLS/JustFlight 747-200/-300, which is one of my favorite jets to fly. On the JustFlight page (https://www.justflight.com/product/747-200-300-hd-fsx), it says its only compatible with P3Dv1-v3 and not with v5. I have the HD version, which has a separate VC and exterior model (which is a requirement for a model to work in P3D I believe), so that's a good sign. I looked it up online to see if there was a way to implement it into v5. Found a thread in which some people said it was not possible, but some other guy managed to get it working. I just don't really understand what he did (how did he change the gauges?) Here is a link to that thread: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/615373-cls-747-classics/ I also found several YouTube videos of the model with working VC in P3Dv5, so it is definitely possible, but the author of the videos were not helpful. So if anyone got it working somehow, please tell me how. There isn't really another option for a 747-200 in P3D as far as I know. Also, I can't test your solutions right now, as I don't have P3D yet. Thanks in advance, guys!
  2. Hello again, guys! So recently I ran into an issue regarding the basic FSX ATC. Here are the details: Today I made a short flight from Alesund (Norway) to Oslo Gardermoen to test a new repaint I made. I wanted a specific approach in Oslo, so I set the wind in a way ATC would allow me to land at RWY 19R. The wind I set was 8 kts from 200 degrees or something like that. I made the flight plan with the basic FSX flight planner and got into flying. At the end of my flight, the ATC cleared me to a RWY 01L approach (the opposite of RWY 19R). So I had to make a landing with an 8 knot tailwind, which is far from realistic... I ran into the same bug a few days ago at Luxembourg, so its not airport related. Now this wouldn't really be an issue at other airports, but for example at Kai Tak (which I frequently fly into), I like to take RWY 13 approach. If the ATC continues to ignore winds, those landings will be impossible as the wind is normally set to RWY 31 approaches. I also noticed that, no matter how fast wind speeds are, the ATIS always says: "Wind calm". Not sure if that's related though. I'm sure it doesn't matter, but the aircraft I used was the TDS Boeing 737-800. I don't use any weather engines or ATC add-ons, things like that I like to keep default. Ideas, anyone? Thanks in advance!
  3. Every time I tried to load the helicopter, I tried it at a default airport. I also realized that I didn't delete the add-on back in June, I just copied the model folders from the Simobjects>Rotorcraft folder to a folder in the desktop... I thought that could be the issue but when I installed the add-on this morning, it uninstalled the leftover files from the effects and sound folders so it was a clean install. Just to make sure it's not an issue with the developer's add-on's, I tried the EC-120 Colibri made by Nemeth Designs (the same guys who made the Sikorsky). It works with no problems at all... I'm thinking of asking Rikoooo or even Nemeth Designs about it, maybe they know something we don't.
  4. 159 files were reaquired, but it still crashes the game....
  5. Okay I just checked that... When I close the program after it crashes, this will show up in the Custom Views -> Administrative Events: There is an Application Error on 18:36:00 -> Faulting application name: dxdiag.exe, version: 10.0.19041.1, time stamp: 0xa39c6329 Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.19041.662, time stamp: 0x5f641e44 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0005a74e Faulting process id: 0x4bb4 Faulting application start time: 0x01d6e9d28f179e9c Faulting application path: C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\dxdiag.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report Id: b6a41815-c0dc-4189-aeba-fe2eef9de19d Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: And after that there is an Application Hang at 18:36:02 -> The program fsx.exe version 10.0.62615.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. Also, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the problem, but sometimes after the crash, this will show up in the Windows logs -> Application: Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.62615.0, time stamp: 0x559f9a9a Faulting module name: API.DLL, version: 10.0.62615.0, time stamp: 0x559f9ab5 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00100043 Faulting process id: 0x2afc Faulting application start time: 0x01d6e9b533429f06 Faulting application path: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\fsx.exe Faulting module path: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX\API.DLL Report Id: 0435d757-06c4-4097-a2fc-b0ce4bc02748 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Do these contain anything helpful?
  6. Nevermind, there is a readme file, but it only tells you how to install it with the installer and not manually
  7. I made a manual install to a folder in the desktop... There is no readme file. And there is a Sound.dll file in the FSX root folder too.
  8. I have an XMLTools.dll in the FSX root folder, so I assume that means yes? As for the sound, I used the automatic installer (as always) so I don't really know where to look for that.
  9. Hello! I recently re-downloaded the Sikorsky S76A add-on from Rikoooo's website (https://www.rikoooo.com/downloads/viewdownload/20/854) I tried it about 7 months ago but deleted it and now I decided to give it an other try. Now, every time I try to select it from the aircrafts, FSX starts loading like hell and crashes after about 15 seconds... I checked the comments on Rikoooo, others had the same issue and the "apparent" solution to it was to run FSX as Administrator. I did that, didn't fix the issue. In some other website they suggested to delete and let FSX rebuild the FSX.cfg file. I did that, still crashes... As far as I remember the first time I tried the add-on, I didn't have this issue. Specs: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Intel Core i5 4590 8GB RAM 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 Any suggestions for a fix? Thanks in advance. -CsCsanad
  10. Thank you so much, Wim! Before you answered, I tried to convert it to DXT3, but it was still black... Then I converted to DXT5, like you showed it on the picture, and it works fine now.
  11. Hello! So I had this idea that I will try to make a repaint for every hungarian registered Antonov AN-2s. I found Tim Conrad's freeware AN-2 (AN-2T & AN-2 V Floats Package on simviation.com). It comes with a few repaints and a white texture to make custom repaints easier to do. However, the white textures are in 24 bit BMP format, while every other textures are in 32 bit BMP format. (Using the 24 bit one on the aircraft made it completely black.) I can't find a way to convert it to 32 bit BMP in DXTBmp, so I used a website instead. First I converted the 24 bit BMP into a 32 bit DDS, then I converted that DDS file into a 32 bit BMP, using the site. I thought this will work... well I couldn't be more wrong (see picture) Is there any way to convert a 24 bit BMP into a 32 bit one? I really hope there is... Thank you for your assistance in advance!
  12. Thanks guys, I will try this. One last question: I see it says "no VC". Is there any way to add one? I know how to add a VC, but it only works with a few models...
  13. Hello! I downloaded a few Ruth/Cantu L-1011 repaints from https://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=ruth+tristar&CatID=fsxacrp&Go=Search In the instructions, it never says which model should I use the textures on. I downloaded the "original" with the LTU repaint. (https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/4478/fsx-ltu-lockheed-l1011/) It doesn't work correctly, the textures I downloaded from Avsim are way darker than they should be (see screenshot) Then I downloaded the "FSX/P3D/FS2004 Lockheed L1011-1 Tristar FSX Native Base Pack" from Simviation. The textures are completely black this time I really don't know what to do now. Which model should I use for success? Maybe I misunderstood something, but I hope somebody can help me here. Thanks in advance! -CsCsanad
