  1. Solved Found in another site fs98converter and automatically all aircraft were available. Regards
  2. Hi all: I just bought a secondhand Windows 7 PC quite specifically to be able to run FS98. Computer is a Intel Celeron D336 2800 Mhz 3.2 GRAM, and Graphic card is an Intel 82915 GV/910GL DDR 2 of128 MB. (Not that I think it's related, but in any case). The thing is everything installs perfectly but I'm not able to add any aircraft. Some which I install, don't show at all in the Aircraft menu, while others I just see them in the menu, but anyway, when I select them, FS98 just freezes and I have to force the program to shut down. I recall I ran FS98 several years ago in another W7 system without those problems. What I have observed, (and didn't remember), is that my stock Aircraft textures are all *.R8, while the aircraft I want to add are all *.af. Can any of you tell me what this problem is about? Thanks a lot. EDIT: I just saw also, in FLTSIM98.cfg, there's a chapter called AIRtoCONTAINER, where there are numbered SIM1 to SIM6, the 6 stock aircraft, and nothing else. So it might be related. But, how could I solve this?
  3. Hi all: I love Flight Simulator, and I have sticked to FS2000 and FS9, but I want to join this thread because of that. I am 54, and I enjoy aircraft in the way you do, Kapitan. But I have the feeling MSFS is becoming like a flying Google Earth, and people could get a little tired of it, after of the first years of WOW effect, especially with the boring trend of aircraft nowadays being quite all the same, IMO, and traffic being possibly affected by COVID for years to come. So, partly I hope developers will have to look at past to keep MSFS interesting, not only with aircraft, as I wouldn't feel too excited flying a DC-8 at an ultramodern airport also. I don't know if that will happen in the way I would like, but anyway, I can tell you for me it's much fun (and work), to enhance FS2000 as much as I can, and recreating old traffic (airports are already "retrofitted" there :D), and when I have been a couple of months with it, when I go to FS9, it nearly looks to me as MSFS. And there, I have nearly all the airports and aircraft that I want; even most modern ones, in some cases very detailed. Yes, I know I have a quite particular vision on this, but although I am quite interested on MSFS, and in the videos it looks fantastic to me, obviously, the trend I see with it, helps me a lot to remain patient, while I sometimes have a look and see if I am missing something in the way I have always liked aviation. For the moment, it seems not too much. Regards.
  4. No. I jhave the feeling a couple of years ago it was quite easy to get it. But now, the only place to get it seems to be Fileplanet. Do you have a problem downloading it from there?
  5. Hi: I think I downloaded it from Fileplanet Try there. Regards
  6. Hi all: I just wanted to edit some MDL files because some of my aircraft have the same textures names, and that causes me some problems in FST, so I wanted to change them. I saw that you can edit MDL files with Notepad, and you can identify the textures names there, so I supposed it could accept minor changes, in order to rename some textures to make them compatible for FST. But the thing is the Model becomes visually undisplayable in FS2000 from the moment you make ANY change. Does anyone how I could do it or maybe another way to edit those files? Thanks and regards.
  7. Hi all: I am working on bringing back to life some aircraft and traffic in FS2000, by collecting information about vintage schedules and downloading some old aircraft. My first idea is to make it as real as possible it is in FS2000 for my home airport (TFN) in the seventies. I've got a lot of aircraft that flew there but some of them I NEED to improve their textures. And I've been quite successful with many designs, by simply converting them to BMP and editing them. (By transforming the model to accept BMP with "Tex512" and then changing textures to BMP by "Texture Converter" or "Convert r8" to edit) But for some of them the transformation to a BMP mdl just doesn't work. I always get a blank aircraft, whatever way I rename the textures to BMP. So I wonder if there's a tool apart from Airport Factory 99 (which I can't get), for just editing the AF textures, or being able to transform AF to BMP to edit and then back to AF. Does anyone know something about that that can help me?
  8. Hi all: I am trying to enhance my FS2000 and I downloaded Lago's FST from internet, but obviously, you can't register for the full version as Lago does not longer exist. (I know FS2000 is outdated, but I really enjoy doing this). I especially need it to edit the Tracks I'm going to make. (I can make them without registering but I'm sure I will need to edit them, so for that the full version is required. Do you know if there's a possibility of getting/buying the serial or some solution for editing tracks? Thanks and Regards.
  9. ok. many thanks. Very clear, except the last sentence. What's the 2004 Win10 update?
  10. Hi: I never got FS98 to start in Windows 10. And I don't know the meaning of bootup. When does your fs98 crash?. After you select an aircraft or just at the beginning. In case it's like mine, did you get rid of all the aircraft panels to get it going? Thanks
