Hi Cas, I had an XP and wanted to fly my feelThere Phenom 100 (payware). Was terrible. Frame rate? maybe 2fps. Sometime later I upgraded to a Win 7 pc. Came with an upgrade to Win 10. Nice! Reloaded FSX, reinstall the Phenom. At best, I got 5fps. Ughhh! Dec 2020, got a new pc. Huge difference. 30fps. Makes a heck'uv'a difference to the enjoyment. One surprise was the discovery of a virus in a payware aircraft. I had it installed on both previous PC's. I checked online, and it's a known issue with that payware. Lovin' the new setup! Well worth the effort of reinstalling etc. Far more responsive too. Cheers

Hi all, I've had a couple of missed approaches in the Phenom 100, and never got around to landing after one. So I finally looked it up. According to the Garmin Phenom Pilot's Handbook, when you have a missed approach, you press the TO/GA button and then apply go-around power. But there's more to it than that. So here's what I worked out: Missed Approach Click the TO/GA on the 2D panel Lift the throttles to the TO/GA position Middle-click the HDG bug to set it to the current Heading Click HDG then AP Set Alt to a suitable circuit altitude Click VS and set the ROC Adjust as necessary In the air, the TO/GA button shuts off AP, levels the wings and raises the nose. The rest is up to you. Some airports have a published Go Around Procedure, but I haven't yet worked out how to put that into FMS. Hope some find this useful, Cheers

Hi all, Not sure if you'd call me a retread or a return (or something else?). I've been away from flightsimming and flightsim.com for a few years. Now I'm back. Any others been in the same boat? (Or should that be aircraft?) I used to be so into it. I did repaints/liveries, designed small airports, recalibrated aircraft, created AI aircraft, modified AI for use, created AI flights and a bunch of other things. I still remember the disappointment when they broke the flight model, but we all got used to that. I've been on this forum from FS2002 to FSX. I've been flying MSFS continually since FS2. Then I just... stopped. I don't recall when, or why. I got a new laptop 4 years ago. I reinstalled FSX and many of my paid and free aircraft. I tried it out briefly, but again got pulled away. One of the things that annoyed me each time I flew was my feelThere Phenom 100. It was never smooth and I couldn't afford better hardware. I had to replace that laptop a few weeks ago (for work). I thought, why not get something faster. So I bought a Lenovo Legion. I used it for work for a couple of weeks, and then decided to install FSX. First thing I did was install the feelThere Phenom 100. I forgot how to fly it. So I did a quick flight with a C172, then loaded the Phenom on the duty runway, Ctrl-E, flaps 1, and took off. (I still remembered how to hit the G key. lol) Not a hint of flicker, lag, or other graphics issues. YAY! I'm a bit older and not too well now, hence my real flying won't be happening again. But I know I'll be enjoying this return to flightsim. Next thing on the shopping list is FS2020. Cheers

Hi all, Been a while since I posted here. Long time no see, hey. I've been re-acquainting myself with the feelThere Phenom 100. (Now that I have a laptop with more than enough grunt.) I was taking the Intro flight, per the manual. All was going well. Took off, AP did the left turn nicely. Began the After Take-Off Checklist. Step 4: Yaw Dampener.... ON. I clicked the YD button, and that's when it went crazy. It flipped straight into a dive, with the annunciator calling something about the autopilot. Then seconds later, it nosed into the ground. Can anyone suggest what I missed, or a remedy for this poorly behaving little Phenom? Thanks

Crosswind landings. I don't set them up though. Sometimes when there are strong winds about (downloaded weather), I'll do some circuits on a runway that gives a good crosswind. Hardest one I had was in a PA28, with about 35 knots crosswind. I could barely see the strip to the left of my forward view. Reminds me of the crosswind check I did before I went for my first license (real). There I was, doing circuits into an approaching thunderstorm. The little Piper was bucking around all over the place. Leave the ground and straight into a 30 deg crab. Do the circuit, kick the rudder just before touchdown, then go do it all again. I was wooping and grinning so much, my 18yo instructor turned to me and said, "You're enjoying this, aren't you." "Hell yeah!" was my reply. :p
