Were you expressively cleared to land? Probably not. You get a landing clearance only if you turn base at the right spot. The obstructor is very strict. -
No the intertia of the turning moment is way too weak. But there is "adverse yaw", an aerodynamic effect that yaws the aircraft in the opposite direction of the roll. You find more information about this in the net.

Because the tools are better as well as the available basic objects and facades. Xplane has always embraced user airports with WED.
