  1. Thank you for the suggestion. I appreciate your response. I did this and I have the same problem. It is interesting to me that after performing what I believe is a complete uninstall, the sim returns me to the same error message after reinstalling. It is almost like there are files stashed somewhere that I am not removing and it therefore "remembers where I was" and takes me back there after the reinstallation. Very frustrating.
  2. Hi Steve - I believe my CPU was intentionally overclocked when it was built. In the past, I believe this was supposed to improve flight sim performance. The company who builds my flight sim computer no longer overclocks its products. I assume that the machine would need to go back to the builder to have the CPU reset to default? As you can tell, I am not computer savvy. Thanks for your continued assistance. Kevin
  3. Hi Tim: Well, I did what you suggested, and I thought I finally found the solution. Was able to fly the Cessna around Philadelphia for 40 minutes with no crash. However, on approach to land, the dreaded screen freeze, the sound hiccup, and back to the desktop.
  4. Hi Tim: I tried what you suggested, but the sim returns to the old settings as I referenced in the message above. I loaded the sim after choosing "normal mode". It flies for about 10 minutes, then crashes to desktop. I think I would like to try a full uninstall/clean install but so far I am unable to determine how to do this. Thanks. Kevin
  5. Hi Steve - Thanks for your assistance. I did the reset as you suggested. The sim then re-installed over the typical 3-4 hour period. However, when I fired it up this morning, it took me right back to the "Warning" box that states my last session ended unexpectedly and offers me the choice of continuing in safe or normal mode. So apparently it did not completely uninstall. If you or anyone else in the flight sim community has any other ideas, it would be appreciated. Thanks again! Kevin MacDonald
  6. Hello All - I am having an issue with MSFS and hopefully someone can assist me. Like so many people, I am having constant CTDs. These happen at various different times during loading and/or flight. I want to completely uninstall the sim from my computer and have a clean re-install. However, every time I remove and re-install, the sim returns to exactly where I was before I uninstalled. For example, after a CTD, at which time I fire up the sim again, I come to the message page that acknowledges that my last session ended improperly, and asks me if I want to proceed in "safe mode" or "normal mode". It does not matter what I choose, the sim merely crashes again. At this point, I exit the sim and perform what I believe to be a complete uninstall. I remove MSFS 2020, plus the files and folders associated with the sim. I perform a re-install and wait the better part of 4 hours for this to complete. I then fire up the sim, and guess what? It returns me to the error message that I indicated above - the choice to proceed in safe or normal mode. Obviously, the sim did not completely uninstall, as it remembers where I was before I initiated the uninstallation, and returns me to this error message - and the whole cycle repeats itself again. I am guessing that I am failed to remove a hidden folder or file somewhere which therefore results in not a "complete" uninstall. Or there may be another reason this is happening that I am not aware of. Can someone help me with this? I would very much appreciate any assistance.
