  3. Thanks for your reply. Where do I find fsx cfg ? What do I do with it and what procedure should I follow to correct the problem
  4. I have Windows 7 and FSX Gold I am considering upgrading to Windows 10 If I upgrade to 10 will I keep all my software the same, i.e. scenery, planes etc. What are you thoughts and experiences doing that or is it best left alone.
  5. My BIOS battery failed, I replace with a new one. Now when FSX desktop icon is double clicked FSX is seen in bottom tray and nothing loads. If I right click the bottom tray icon and click play I see a notice that FSX is already running. Any ideas please.
  6. First of all thanks to all for replies re I.Ex. lost not yet sorted. As Win7 is or will not be supported by MS I may upgrade to Win10 regretfully. Should I do a full backup of data or just do an update with a fresh FSX installation. What do you recommend. Also can Win10 Desktop be made to look like Win7 for me a more pleasant and logical display compared to Win10 I notice
  7. Desktop i7 computer Windows 7 home edition Bullguard internet security Never had bugs. Internet rarely used. Internet explorer 11 Problem When clicking on Desktop I.Ex screen opens in a flash and in a millisecond closes down. Have system restored no good Have replaced I.ex folder files. no good. Any ideas anyone I.ex for some unknown reason does not open at all.
  8. Abolutely correct worked well with mine, now brand new controls in fact I prefer the black to the rubber.
  9. Thanks to all of you for advice, have used Isopropyl neat solution and taken all the rubber off down to the black shiny plastic because when partly cleaned and rubber dried, still sticky. conclusion after 10 years of use, the large rubber areas where your hands go have de-composed. The controls have always been as new but the rubber coating failed. I used a "rough" cotton pile tea cloth when the wife was not watching, rubbed carefully but vigorously to remove all rubber down to the black shiny plastic, taking care not to apply the liquid to any other areas, when dried, a small amount on a soft cloth with kitchen spray polish and the controls look brand new. To attempt to dismantle the controls is unadvisable, so clean all the Throttle area of rubber only and clean the Stick rubber area where your hand sits only. Very pleased with the result.
  10. Unsure where to post his; I'm using FSX. What is the best way to clean the sticky Rubber, due to handling....on the Saitek X52 controllers ?
  11. Have you noticed how many strips have an awkward approach; that tree or run of trees at the end of a short runway; great practice for full flap and sideslipping approaches at minimum speed.
