  1. Thanks for responding to me, and I meant to get back to you much more promptly just to say thank you, but I've been up to my ass in alligators ever since MSFS arrived. But the plain truth is, no, there is no mouse joystick available. I find it hard to comprehend that a purportedly high-class outfit such as ASOBO could be so obtuse as to not include a basic thing such as a mouse joystick. But they didn't. But, for anybody in the same boat as I am, there is hope: Vjoy and Virtual Essentials. Vjoy is the virtual driver which creates the virtual joystick and Virtual Essentials is the program which makes it work. Both are free downloads and there are YouTube videos explaining how to make them work. It was hell, but even someone like me, a basic computer numnuts, can eventually figure it out. It took me close to three days but I now have a mouse joystick that is pretty much as good as the one I have in FSX. For all I know, I'm the only guy in the flight Sim world for whom this is an issue but if there is anybody else I would be more than happy to share my experience, which wasn't easy. Now I am over a week into the MSFS world and I am just getting to where I can keep a Cessna 172 basically straight and level and I am learning the basics of the Garman 1000, and so forth. It is very pretty to look at but there have been a number of negatives, not the least of which the fact that there are no opening doors. I couldn't believe, after all the purportedly huge effort they must have put in to making it so pretty, that they would have omitted a detail like that! A true gut punch, but I am recovering LOL! I'm probably going to have more to say about this in general, but right now my thoughts are not terribly well organized except to say I'm still FSX; in my opinion it remains the greatest sin ever.
  2. Simple question: can I fly with the mouse? I have searched extensively in this and other forums and have not found a clear answer. I am partly disabled and cannot use a joystick.I use FSX and have long since learned to substitute the mouse and it works fine. I just ordered MSFS 2020 and now I'm feeling like a [prohibited word] because I was assuming that, well, of course I should also be able to do the same thing in MSFS, right? Hope you're all doing well - Tres
  3. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that it took me over a week of coming back to this post repeatedly before that simple sentence of yours actually sank in and registered. I initially thought you were barking up the wrong tree because I was still fixated on the thought of it being possible additional consequences of the rather traumatic divorce from Orbx global and P3D V5. DX 10? DX 12? 32-bit? 64-bit? I'm just a simple small GA private pilot and even though I've been doing this for 20 years I'm still lost in all this geeky stuff. But you nailed it Mr. zip. When that sentence of yours finally broke through and got my attention (in my defense I must mention that I have had a lot on my flight sim late lately and I just wasn't focusing on this) so I went to my settings, found that the DX 10 thing was actually ticked, so I unticked it and everything was immediately fixed so I feel a little sheepish but I definitely owe you a big THANK YOU. Tres
  4. Hi, I have straight out-of-the-box FSX with SP1 and SP 2. The fellow at Orbx suggested just doing a "repair install". It was a couple of months ago and my memory is a little fuzzy about how it went but I think it actually went ahead and did a full reinstall because if memory serves I reinstalled the two service packs as well. Since then, everything has behaved very satisfactorily; my main concern was preserving the "integrity" of the sceneries I have made and since that episode I have everything back the way I wanted it. So, this problem with the disappearing Saab is the only blemish on my perfect FS life right now LOL. As I recall, we had a very brief overlap, you and I. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you were pretty much a newbie right around when I drifted away, although I think you have been one of the most active guys around for quite a while. Thanks for the reply, nice to hear from you. Tres
  5. Hi guys! Tres here. Been a while (like, about nine years LOL). Actually I have stopped by and lurked about at least once or twice a month, for the whole time. Maybe some of you remember me. I see a lot of names I remember well. I trotted off to FS economy in August of 2013, moved on from there a couple of years later, but I've been flying every day the whole time. I've been an avid Air Hauler2 junkie since March of 2019. So I've got a little issue and I figured this was probably the best place to come for some help. So glad to see so many people are still around that I remember! This is (or was, as it were) my freeware Saab 340 B from Premier Aircraft Design. I last flew it in May of this year. Since then I have; acquired and subsequently refunded back out of P3DV5 (they were very gracious about it), acquired and subsequently deleted away from Orbx FTX global (getting completely rid of it required a reinstall of FSX which I found a little annoying although Orbx were helpful in the process). So, the wiser for the experiences I guess, I am back to being a complete FSX loyalist. But I digress. I have seen other instances of airplanes appearing as a black hole and that's usually, if not always, a missing textures issue, but I have never encountered this. The instruments in the panel look normal, the rest of the panel is white as in the screenshot. The airplane starts and runs and flies normally. All my other airplanes are fine. I have tried deleting the aircraft folder completely and reinstalling it from the backup drive, no difference. Tres
  6. Hi tres2.What I know is that the VC's built inside the plane itself but,I'm gonna take any advice I could get.

At the end of this whole fiasco,it should lokk like this:http://en.academic.ru/pictures/enwiki/65/Airbus-319-cockpit.jpg

  8. Hi Brett,

Tried to e-mail you at your website a few days ago. It's about your beautiful P35 Bonanza. I can't seem to get the heading bug to move. I'm not too good with cab files (I tried replacing the HSI with the one from the money but it's over my head. Do you have a fix? My e-mail address is tres@re-news.com. Frankly, I prefer that to the private message form, but whatever is better for you. Thanks for any help possible.
