  1. Which aircraft? Can't even begin to diagnose without more specific info. What aircraft? what route? Is this an approach? SID/STAR?
  2. Double-check [effects] section in the aircaft.cfg Ensure that the touchdown line reads touchdown=fx_tchdwn, 1 and NOT touchdown=fx_tchdwn the ", 1" indicates the effect will display once for the duration in the fx file. without it, once you touchdown it may keep displaying without a means of de-activating (Until maybe you're airborne again?) Just makes sure the ,1 is there.
  3. I love freeware... TDS 737's 787's are amazing (after rigorous testing to my personal opinion on performance like endurance, climb perf and braking). There is no free C-130 worthy unless you want a very heavy King Air performing aircraft. C-5 is also very unlikely. The captainsim C-130 Xperience was a respectable product (I don't kno if it is still available or what cost). Just be prepared that most freeware aircraft will be heavily based off default planes..... A free Arrow will likely fly just like the C172 with maybe better speed and different fuel flow. Freeware developers Project Airbus, Project Opensky/Skyspirit, TDS, Dreamwings, off the top of my head are a little more developed. Free is still wonderful. Just don't assume you're flying a genuine representation. FS will always have it's limitations. (Even PMDG has a few shortcomings). Happy Simming!
  4. To my knowledge it does not function. FSTramp was the replacement but it has a ridiculously expensive subscription system. To be fair FSTramp is way better than FSN but, FSCommander might be a close substitute. I've used them all and with FSX:SE I pay and use FSTramp (it is kinda worth it as a universal FMC). I've read somewhere that some users got FSN to function with FSX but it was a gimmicky type of rigging that I never bothered to attempt.
  5. Tried d/l many times. WinZip and WinRAR both report corrupt archive I cannot open it.
  6. I am at my wits end for diagnosing this anomaly. So I have a question: Is there an enhancement addon released in the last few years that may affect the display/effect of the ABxxxxxx.bgl files (Airport Background) to the extent that the polygons no longer display AND autogen scenery is now all over the aprons and runways? I've been coping with the issue for a while (creating new polygons and exclude files with SBuilder as I encouter them) however, recently I experimented an bounced around the entire globe to various default airports and can see that it is a global problem. I've searched the default scenery folders to confirm that all the AB files are present for the affected airports and through SBuilder can confirm that all the polygons are layered at "7" (for airport background/autogen exclude). Furthermore, I have scanned the terrain.cfg files and all Airport background textures are flagged "autogen exclude =1" which according to documentation is correct. I'm sure I installed something (which may make it impossible to track down) that has configured FS scenery to somehow "hide" this airport background polygons (thus creating autogen trees and buildings on top) but, I'm hoping for some suggestions as to hunting down the issue..... What can cause this? A search on google has turned up only a couple instances reported by others but nothing resolved nor does it seem very likely it is a common issue (only response indicated a landclass file but, worldwide?) If someone out there has experienced this and/or can recall what addon caused this please post. Any other suggestions are very welcome. Thanks
