  1. I'd second that - I'm currently using a 1660 Super and it rocks MFS (high settings) at 1080p although I'd recommend chipping up to 32GB of RAM. My rig: GTX 1660 Super Ryzen 5 3600 OC 4.2ghz 16gb 3200 Ram (will be doubling this) MFS loaded on SSD drive
  2. There is a freeware package coming which is already the best and will give you everything you can hope for - keep an eye out for the updated version of Plan-G - author is already working on a release compatible with MFS
  3. Just don't fly to Keflavik :o Still not fixed unfortunately (CTD)
  4. The clue is in the accusation of 'fanboy' which I believe is a projection. There must be a contingent of simmers out there who are partial to FSX, P3D or X-Plane that have invested heavily into those sims and now realise that the new hotness is quite frankly - amazing. Bugs and temporary shortfalls aside, there is no dispute amongst objective, experienced simmers that MFS has a LOT going for it out of the box. It has also won a lot of new fans and gotten people talking about MFS that have never really heard of it. Personally, I've had a number of people approach me about it after posting a few videos on Facebook who are blown away by the geographic detail in places familiar to people who live there. It's all very positive and it bodes well for the community and the third-party business
  5. there's a keybinding for 'view reset' or something like that - i have it on one of my top buttons and it works a treat.
  6. It's no where near a 'hot mess' and it's really fantastic. Sure some features are missing but nothing that gets in the way of enjoying the sim.
  7. Then don't play it. Vote with your wallet and give yer yapper a rest ;) Go make love to X-plane or P3d. Make love, not war. Hate is the path to the dark side. Your sister she is. You must face Vader now.
  8. If the PC can see the peddles (check joystick calibration in Windows) then the Sim can - you just need to map the axis' on the peddles manually. Ironically, I'm using a Microsoft Flight Stick from 2002 (actually made by Microsoft FOR Flight Simulator) and MFS was like 'yeah i don't know what that is' LOL
  9. Even a simple flight stick isn't that expensive - heck - you're even better off with a gamepad! Why on God's earth would you want to fly with a mouse?
  10. Actually, the Maddog isn't particularly straightforward. It's definitely it's own 'flavour' of systems and controls. As far as what has been provided in airliners, they all seem to have a mind of their own (not in a good way) so you shouldn't take the stock aircraft as the best example of what it will be to fly them in MFS. PMDG and others will bring better models to the table soon.
  11. If anyone does it - it will be these guys: https://www.flythemaddog.com/site/
  12. I don't know but I suspect that it may be a while (if ever) for a payware package to come out. I don't think they sold particularly well in the past. I can bank on at least two or three freeware/donationware jobs though - at sometimes that's enough.
  13. The airliners are a dog IMO. I see what they were trying to do - but the FMCs and autopilot systems are terrible. I'd rather have a non-functioning FMC then the half-assed junk they've developed. Now they DO SAY that they want to raise the A320 to 'study level' - although I'll believe it when I see it, that would (for me) make the base sim complete. Luckily most of the props are brilliant and the Garmin kits have been modelled really well for the most part. As for the rest (747, 787, Cessna Citation, etc) - I'll save my pennies for the incoming third-party packages that will chew up anything that shipped from Asobo.
  14. Wow - couldn't disagree more on this thread. If you think MFS is a 'hot mess' then you probably don't have much experience with the previous versions (by comparison, MFS is really quite excellent). Yes there are bugs - I acknowledge that - but it was expected...and they'll fix them. Perhaps the OP would be happier with X-plane or P3D?
