  1. Haven't tried this, but I find I'm listed on the leaderboard!?!? Maybe that's because I've spent a few hours operating in/out of NKX in other aircraft. Trying to recapture my lost youth, spent flying the F-8 Crusader there in VF-124 some 52 years ago. About the landing challenge.... Half a decade ago, runway 06L was never the active; always 24R. And landings were made using the Fresnel lens for glide slope and angle-of-attack indicator for airspeed. Landings were always a carrier approach, never flared. That meant touchdowns were at some 15 feet per second or so. 0fps must be some USAF thing :).
  2. All the config I've done is in the PDF file. I don't know any other way to share.
  3. If you have an Nvidia G-Force graphics card, G-Force experience may have reset your FS settings to maximize frame rate. Check graphics options to make sure photogrammetry is enabled.
  4. Chicagorandy, I'm a VN-era vet with four years on you. Just to prove it, I played "Zork" when it was "dungeo," on a PDP-11. I'm with you. I'll be occupied with MSFS for quite some time.
  5. The trees here (near Baltimore MD USA) are starting to turn. If fall is A Thing in the sim, perhaps I'll be able to see some neighborhood streets currently overgrown by what looks like a tropical rain forest.
  6. After downloading today's new patch, I went to the content manager to see what had changed. I saw the line "ASOBO-FLIGHTS-COMMERCIAL-FLIGHT," indicating a download was available. Naturally I clicked on it. I got the screen in the following screen shot. Nothing happens. Neither the VERSION HISTORIES nor DEPENDENCIES link helps. Only the GO BACK link and Cancel button do anything. Anybody know what's up with this?
  7. Abbreviated URL doesn't work, so I found it with a search and shortened it to https://tinyurl.com/y3auphkv. Thanks for this Tim (BTW, no relation :)). I had the grayed-out problem but with the training flights.
  8. Baltimore and nearby suburbs are astonishingly accurate. Businesses along the major roads are easily recognizable. The problem is the TREES! Suburban streets are totally overgrown.
  9. When I fired up MSFS 2020 for the first time, it recognized my Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog stick and throttle. Unlike with some other controllers, MSFS pre-assigned functions to the controllers. I prepared the following documentation. The default stick layout (tmWhDefault.pdf) for reference, and A blank function layout (thWhBlank.pdf) for rolling your own. Click the links to download. Hope some of you might find these useful.
  10. I feel your pain! In FSX, my first flight in a new aircraft was always to take off from KMTN near Baltimore. I'd head south down the Chesapeake Bay, fly under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and return to KMTN. But in MSFS 2020, the bay bridge is only a causeway. Maybe someday....
  11. Another septuagenarian here. Is this the geezer thread? Anyway, user rfdsva posted a list of Xbox controller commands for MSFS 2020. I reformatted it into a pdf. Click this link if you're interested.
  12. Thanks, rfdsva! I took your work and reformatted it into two-column PDF's: one for the keyboard, one for the controller.
