  1. I solved this. Turns out when you have a cache file that's deleted, all your sim files need to be re-installed so that they'll be recognized. In my VR settings in game, I simply had to change the video card settings to DLSS and it fixed it.
  2. Good day, I was desperate to get my new Velocity One system recognized correctly within MSFS2020 and in the process did something that screwed up my VR interaction within the sim. I'm sure one of you wizards can help me with what happened. The sim starts correctly in Steam, MSFS boots properly and I can fly the sim on my desktop with no issue. When I activate VR (this was working since day one), all I see is blackness but I can see the POIs in, let's say, in the Disco Flight arena. This is really weird but I'm sure in removal of my Steam cache folder, I did something stupid that caused this issue. I followed some online instructions to do this to remove the improper label of my Velocity Flight One system. I went into the HKey RegEdit to do this. There was a duplicate listing of my yoke system, so I deleted the duplicate and the sim rectified itself. I've been working on getting this all setup with Mark's videos (SimHanger). I turned on VR yesterday after hours of work and I was shocked to see all black. I guess I need to reinstall the Windows Mixed Reality Portal? Would that fix this? Maybe a Steam reload? Can that be done? I also notice on my boot up screen in MSFS that there are instructions for a god damn XBOX controller setup. WTF is that? I want NOTHING to do with XBOX. Is there a setting for this in the sim to remove all that? Thanks GG
  3. Good day, I got the Turtle Beach Velocity One system and I use it on a PC ONLY. When I plugged the device in I noticed that MSFS was calling it an Xbox 360 controller. It never identified it as VelocityOne. I'm stuck with this goofy naming convention and it does not behave correctly as a result. I'm in PC mode per the profile menu but I'm just floored at how frustrating it is that I cannot find the settings (cloud or otherwise) to delete the profile and start over again. I also notice with the steam version I have to log in with an XBOX profile when it loads up. Is there a way to delete the controller impressions from it's first recognition so it'll do it all over again and, hopefully, recognize the device as VelocityOne? I will not engage with Turtle Beach as their customer service will send me into cardiac arrest from anger. Any thoughts or expertise in this matter?
  4. Thanks genius, I'm a high hour actual former airline pilot. I was wondering about a quick tool and if the EFB. We got all our FLEX calcs from dispatch once uploading final load numbers. I know how to do it manually but I wanted an app or some update from FBW
  5. Does anyone know when or if FlyByWire will be updating their EFB to calculate Flex temps like the Fenix version that I have now stopped flying due to it's frame rate hit under VR loads? I have an Excel app that works for now but wondering if there was something either in the works or available that I'm overlooking. Or do most of you just put the ole 60F Flex number in the spot? Thanks
  6. Good day folks. I saw this video online yesterday and was totally intrigued...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQFlcuDs_uc&list=WL&index=1&t=631s Does anyone have a similar VR tool like this one so pilots like myself with thousands of real time flying hours who fly predominantly IFR can stream Pilot2ATC or anything else while "under the hood"? Yesterday while short of my departure route, ATC (VATSIM) re-routed me and I could not copy anything down, back out of the VR experience, etc. and get the CRAFT written down. I'm BEYOND frustrated. VRTools seems totally badass whereas I could type (I'm trained on a kb without sight) or stream the Pilot2ATC readback if I'm using that. Any suggestions about what works for you, tools you've hacked to work in MSFS etc? Thanks so much, Swimbody
  7. Then pay for the Fenix model. it's got an integrated EFB that links to simbrief and Navigraph. It's like I'm flying again at the airlines I left 12 years ago.
  8. An up to date subscription to Navigraph data. Then update your nav systems inside the aircraft you fly the most.
  9. I remember how eager I was to go to the mall and visit the software store where I could look to see if the new Flight Sim program had been released here in the US. It was around 1986 or so when we were in the heyday of software generation and publication. Ah, the floppy disks, the 3.5" disks and the vast amounts of time it all took to upload and get running. We didn't know any better back then so it felt like Star Trek to us. The memories are still there and I can smell the plastic wrapped packaging to this very day. So much of today's youth has no idea what that was like and it's really sad.
  10. As the title suggests, what would be the best Meta Quest 2 settings to make MSFS work best? Thanks.
  11. I have a Ryzen 5 3600T 6-Core at 3.80GHz, 32mb of RAM and an Asus ROG Strix 3060 V2 OC. I am using the OpenXR Tool Kit and have designated the use of the latest OpenXR runtime, and I've set the EyeAdaptation, ColorGrading and Sharpen all to 0 in the .cfg file. I keep monkeying around with the OpenXR tool kits setting but even while performing approaches etc, the screen door effect in the Quest2 is a little distracting. Is there some simple Nvidia setting I need to make or is there no hope due to my present settings. I'm almost at the point of adding 2 more monitors and going back to TrackIR. If anyone has a similar setup to me could you PLEASE give me your setup numbers and are you REALLY seeing incredible resolutions? Yes I have the new updates to both card and the SU 10. Would love any help so thanks in advance.
  12. Well yes, I have tried VR. I have had an Oculus, Oculus Rift and now the Quest 2 with the link cable installed. It works INCREDIBLY well with DCS and I have zero.zero problems running at max values. On MSFS however, I have to enable the Oculus program running in the background, then I must have the XR kit running as well which is the best tool I've ever seen to help my Quest 2. I have to tweak it a little and have gotten it pretty close but I'm wondering if I need to address the Nvidia settings on the card as well. It's a ton of work when DCS is plug and play with no hiccups. I know, I know, DCS is a sandbox while MSFS is a network based graphics monster.
  13. As the title says, I have a single large monitor mounted to the wall behind my desk. It works just fine but the desk is rather deep so I was thinking since my VR setup is not the best for MSFS just yet, how about if I add two more monitors to either side of the big boy. I figure I could use two cheap 30in monitors to flank and give immersion. What do you think I should do?
