  1. You can down load the Salty mod with the FBW installer so maybe hopeful for more info from FBW.
  2. No easy way unless, as stated, you wing it. It's complicated if fact: Current Flight Level - Target Flight Level = difference difference / Decent Rate = Time needed for decent in minutes Time (/60)in tenths of an hour * IAS = NM needed for Decent NM for Decent + NM Target from end of RWY = Required Distance for Decent Example with rough rounding: 21000 FL - 2000 = 19000 19000 - 1200 = 15.833 15.8/60 = 0.264 220 IAS / 0.264 = 58.06 NM 58.06 + 10.1 NM from RWY (last waypt) = 68.16 NM I only use it for the higher altitudes to give me a chance at getting to the runway without a nose dive.
  3. Finally finished the update after a couple of hours. Wasn't expecting it today but it was over 40 gig on the standard version. New user interactions menu items on the world page, the labels in the aircraft are huge (gonna try a smaller font). the Cessna does seem smoother but it crash when trying to load a flight plan. I'll see how it reacts as I go deeper into the sim. It is loading faster. Dave
  4. Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flight controller puts the rudder control on the yoke eliminates the need for pedals. Sounds interesting. Lets hope its worth the cost at $350. https://www.engadget.com/turtle-beach-velocityone-flight-controller-200516498.html
  5. Sorry to type to you that I have an old CH yoke that is working. The difference that I can see is that all the assignments I did were in the second box. It doesn't really say it anywhere but the first box is primary and the second of course is secondary control. I did the assignments after the first install and have not had to reconfigure after any of the updates even when it seems to be a full re-install but something may have caused a bug.
  6. I don't know of a freeware app but if you want to do landings check if FS Instant Approach is available for MSFS yet. I use it for X-Plane and it gives approach setup for any runway at the distance and altitude desired, you choose the aircraft.
  7. I have the CH USB yoke and pedals probably close to 20 years old now. Both work with MSFS without issue. If you are looking for the sim to give a picture of the yoke while in the control window it isn't going to happen. No new drivers were need but the calibration works for every axis available. The sim doesn't even recognize the MS Sidewinder but it works also. It takes a little time to get it configured and tweaks are required after. The content window should help with the missing aircraft but it may take another shot at installation to get it right. D
  8. Closest I have found is the 'raw_cities.txt' list located: \MSFS 2020\Official\OneStore\asobo-vcockpits-instruments\html_ui\Pages\VCockpit\Instruments\Shared\Map\CitiesGenerator\ There are a few other files with additional info but this had what I was looking for but it hasn't updated since initial install.
  9. On the copilot side you will need to use the 'Cabin Air' and 'Cabin Heat' knobs to defrost the windows. Not sure how it will take for ice. Not much else available on the C152.
  10. There are a few addons that may help you. FSX MiniPanel and fs2004_minipanel have worked well for me allowing different styles of panel along the abiilty to resize. Both freebies in the library. There is also an inexpensive minipanel available in one of the stores.
  11. I had this problem when getting thru the learning stage of the new sim. Turns out the CTRL keys are not created equal for the controls. The right CTRL+Num Delete didn't not release the brakes but the LEFT CTRL+Num Delete did release the brakes. I found that to be true for several other controls that contained the SHIFT or ALT keys. When setting up hot keys for other controls it note the right and left for the key. It does have the benefit of providing a large amount of programmable keys. Go figure! D
  12. I had the same question a few weeks back when setting up a flight yoke. What little info available on the MSFS web site stated it to be an alternate control. Didn't mean much to me then but @rockinrobin point of a co-pilot makes sense as the multiplayer mode is suppose to allow that type of connectivity. The instability will prevent me from trying it anytime soon.
  13. shb7, Functionality is everything. It's clear that you didn't look to learn what additional functions would be available with the 3rd party app. If all the sims in the past 40 years provided a check box to get the functions wanted there would be no need for 3rd party apps. Stick with the functions in the sim and the C152. You will be fine.
  14. Thanks JS. Aren't we all lucky. They have put the information with ALL the other Windows logging. D
