  1. Same for me. I haven't identified a fix. I hadn't made any recent changes to fs9, and if it also affects miggers, then it's not just me. Is it possible that it's related to still using Windows 7? If fsrealwx lite is dead, can someone suggest a free or paid alternative? Must be compatible with fs9 and W7. Thanks! nadlzfw
  2. Or, within the sim: options/controls/assignments; then under the tab 'joystick axes', in the drop down box in the upper right, select the physical controller to be changed, and in 'assignment list', find 'throttle axis', highlight it and change the axis from whatever it is to nothing. Nadlzfw
  3. Wild guess; you've got two physical controls for the throttle position (for example, a throttle quadrant and also a joystick with a built-in throttle). The sim is unable to decide which you're really using and will randomly switch between one and the other. Solution is to deactivate one of them. It happened to me and drove me crazy till I figured it out. Nadlzfw
  4. 1. Nearly all aircraft are freeware add-on aircraft. No payware at all. I frequently tinker with aircraft.cfg and panels. 2-3. No VA or vatism at all. I use real time weather from fsrealwx lite. 4. Navigation by VOR, unless GPS is built in to the panel (which is only a small number of aircraft. No FMC at all. If I use an autopilot, it is 'manual' heading control, never in NAV or APC mode. 5. Always with ATC, and if it is an airliner from an era where IFR clearances were used (like, not the 30's) then IFR. 6. GA, Airlines, bizjets, military...whatever I feel like. Today the Armstrong Whitworth Whitley KHYI to KILE. I switch between stick and yoke about every 2-5 months, and normally fly the aircraft that had the device in use. Total time for each flight is seldom more than an hour, so, for a jet, about 200 nm max.

Can you offer either suggested fsuipc settings, or a clear explanation of them? I've been confused about most of them. Changing settings has been frustrating, trial and error (more error than trial). That said, I use fsrealwx lite. FS9 options/settings/display/weather is set to detailed clouds and that helps. I wish that overcast looked more like what I imagine looking at the ATIS raw data. I'm pretty satisfied with my current situation, but I wish fsrealwx lite and fsuipc had clearer settings. nadlzfw
  6. Frankly, I looked at the aircraft.cfg, particularly the weights, and got disgusted. I've seen models that play fast and loose with specifications, but this is insane. If they can't be bothered to look at wikipedia and see what the empty weight is, then I can't be bothered to download the model.
  7. Once again, I flew to KPIT (Pittsburgh) and, as usual, got frustrated that they only ever operate runway 32; never any of the 10-28's. Since the taxiway arrangement does not suit this, there is always traffic jams going to and from the runway. Is there a way to make 10-28 (any of the three) available to the controllers? I have not changed any of the scenery or airport data; it's all original. Thanks! Nadlzfw
  8. One additional possibility...I had a similar problem while using a logitech joystick and throttle quadrant at the same time. Root cause was that both the throttle quadrant and the joystick had an active throttle lever; the sim would become confused as to which is to be obeyed. Solution was to amend the settings so that the throttle lever on the joystick commands nothing. Nadlzfw
  9. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! For a long time I struggled with my Polikarpov Po-2; exactly the same awful handling on the ground. I recognized these symptoms immediately. Moving the tail skid forward works perfectly!!!! Nadlzfw
  10. Two ways to get a better view over the nose while landing: 1) Raise the seat...There's a keyboard command to do this. I don't know what the default key command is, because I changed it to something else. 2) Change the view angle in the panel.cfg. Look for an entry like: [Views] view_forward_WINDOWS=MAIN_PANEL VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=4.0, 0.0, 0.0 "4.0" is the angle between straight forward and the angle of the pilot's view. A larger number will give a better view. Changing the viewpoint in aircraft.cfg will not help this situation. IMHO, the default Mooney is particularly troublesome because the panel occupies so much of the screen, that there is not much left for view out the window, so even a bit of AOA causes the nose to block the view.
  11. I also noticed that, for each [fltsim.x] entry, the line title=(whatever) must be different for each one. I think, if two of the variants have the same title, one will not show up. Nadlzfw
  12. I'll make a semi-wild guess that something is wrong with the following in aircraft.cfg: [contact_points] static_pitch=0.04 //degrees, pitch when at rest on the ground (+=Up, -=Dn) static_cg_height=7.67 //feet, altitude of CG when at rest on the ground Or, since you paid for the airplane, is there some help that comes with the purchase? 13. Pressing alt-enter will toggle between full screen and window mode. I have two monitors. Trying to bridge the display between the two looks weird, so I use only one for fs9. I prefer windows mode to full screen. I use the other monitor for skyvector, FSrealwx lite, and whatever extra windows I need from the simulator (such as a radio panel). Works really well for me. 14. Likewise, FSmetar stopped working for me a few months ago. Exactly the same symptoms. I could never get it to run again. I gave up trying and tried to uninstall it. Could not do that either! I removed the shortcut to it, but the application is still buried in the computer somewhere. Nadlzfw
