  1. If the quadrant is not being picked up in Windows, then it’s not going to work in MSFS. Seems like a hardware fault or driver issue. Have you downloaded the saitek /Logitech Flight Yoke software?
  2. Appears like the issue is with the quadrant. When it’s plugged in is there a green light on it? If so, it would seem like the connection is good so you may want to check for updated drivers. If no light then it would seem to be dead.
  3. Hi The ps/2 throttle doesn’t show as a separate device in MSFS, the levers are detected via the yoke device. If you select the yoke and then alter a settings such as flaps or throttle, the levers should be detected by the game. Just ensure your levers show up under Windows > control panel> devices first. Also, there is no speed brake control in MSFS, they are spoilers 😀
  4. Hi all I have finally taken the plunge and purchased MSFS and have to say I am loving it, although it does take a little while to get your head around it and sort out the key assignments etc... One thing I have noticed is that the sun appears very bright and on a clear day, everything appears washed out with limited colours. I not the following 1. I have switched off Bloom 2. HDR is shown as on, but as I do not have HDR capable monitors, I cannot switch off in WIndows 10, but presume it is off by default. Is there a way to improve the contrast and increase the colours. I could do this via the nvidia control panel, but then this will do it across the entire PC, I only want to change it for MSFS. I have also noticed that rainy days appear very foggy, it would be nice to have some rain without the ground fog effect. Is there a way to download more weather effects to add the to the default selection list?
  5. Are there any addons that anyone is aware of that can only be installed once? I.e. I wouldn’t be able to move them to a new PC?
  6. Hi I would like to buy MSFS but will probably need to move it to a new PC at some point, once I can afford to upgrade. Am I right in thinking if I buy from the MS Store, I will be able to use the licence on the new PC, as I do not want to have to purchase the game a second time, just for a new rig? How do they know that I have uninstalled it from the first PC, or can you only be logged in to your MS account/MSFS game on one device at a time? Thanks
  7. Yes that may work for you, but if you’re like me that wants to play in ultra, with triple screens, live weather, air hauler, fs2crew etc… then it’s going to require a bit more umph! Am I greedy? Probably Do I know what I want? Yes Can I afford it? No :-)
  8. I am board with you on this one, it’s a real dilemma. If I am to play MSFS then I want to be able to play and enjoy it in all its glory. I’ve struggled with other flight sims over the years and it’s not enjoyable chasing every FPS to make it run sufficiently. Sadly with the cost of top end PCs being between £3-4K that’s one heck of an investment for just one game. Plus I would want some addons so the cost will be greater. I could play with less quality but I know it will frustrate me and I would still need to spend £1.5-2k on a half decent PC. I’m holding on, hoping that the next release of CPUs or GPUs will make the current range affordable but I’m not holding my breath. MSFS is still developing so there is a chance that one of the upcoming updates will move the goalposts as to what hardware is required. It’s a tough call right now but give it time and the wind may change in a favourable direction.
  9. Thanks for the heads up but I’m in the UK, not the US where that company is located
  10. Yes thanks for the advice. I have looked at some custom PC builds but they are coming out more expensive than buying an off the shelf model and adding a new nvme drive afterwards. I guess that’s the cost of a one off build vs a stock option
  11. Hi, is there a known limit for the number of addons that can be added to MSFS? Like there was a limit with FS9. I know it’s possible to only add what you need for that area/flight but nice to know if there are any restrictions Thanks
  12. Thanks all for the advice. It looks like I will aim for 2x nvme drives. Although most new PCs come with 1x nvme and a HDD, so I will have to ensure there is capacity on the motherboard to allow for a second nvme drive to be added afterwards. As a previous poster said, the HDD may still be useful for storing downloads etc…
  13. Hi all I am pricing up a new PC to run MSFS but am stuck with disk drives. There used to be a simple choice of HDD or SDD but now there’s nvme too. What is the best configuration for this game, nvme running win10 with SDD for the game? Or vice versa? I’ve heard that it is possible to have 2x nvme drives but it can cause slowdown as they both share the same interface? Or will a fast HDD still do a good job? I’m looking at 2tb drive for the game or should I consider 4tb if I’m adding lots of extra scenery and airports?
  14. Hi I would like to get MSFS but my current PC is not up to the job of running it smoothly. I would like to upgrade to a new PC at some point but am restricted by the chip shortage and high prices at the moment. So I have a few questions: 1. If I buy the Premium Edition on the Microsoft store, can I transfer (reinstall) the software to a new PC if I login with the same account? 2. Can most add-ins be moved or are they single install only? 3. How much space does a full install take (without addons)? Thanks
