  1. Going fishing at Reelfoot lake in Tennessee 0M2
  2. Hello. Currently flying the default TBM. No addons to my sim. After setting the altitude you need to select VS. After adjusting that the aircraft will fly to the selected altitude then it will select the ALT hold button one reached that altitude.
  3. I currently do not have my pc running, but I think I remember seeing in a pull down menu the option to go to the arrival time line of a flight plan. Ive used it a time or two. Next time I get to fire up the computer again I'll post specific details.
  4. Hello. Check out Digitalthemepark. They mainly use TS while flying and they even offer multiplayer sessions for other games as well. They are on Discord but TS is their main communication program. Hope this helps. https://digitalthemepark.com/
  5. Hello. I had the same problem. I could not figure out the autopilot on my own after several tries. In this case, you must watch a few Youtube autopilot tutorials. They will teach you that the sim has a certain sequence to make the autopilot work. The GA aircraft pretty much have the same sequence but the jets like the 787 and the 320Neo have an added bonus of an extra step or two including throttle settings. Once you memorize that sequence then you should be good to go. The CJ4 is a pleasure to fly but it does not have speed control. Manual only. Just an FYI on that.
  6. Yes you can! Google JoinFS Your son will need to use the FSX version of JoinFS and you need to use the MSFS version of JoinFS. You both can join a server (or create your own) and you both can fly together. Any user of the program can change any other players airplane to one they have in your own library. Hope this helps.
  7. Hello. I have the same 16gb memory, 1Tb HDD, and the AMD Ryzen 3 processor only mine is the 2200G. I have no experience with ORBX scenery however with my new CPU upgrade, FSX was no challenge for the pc so I decided to try the Xplane demo. It basically told me that I would be much better off with a graphics card. I suspect there is a bottleneck in your system not letting it draw the ORBX scenery. I bought a RTX 580 8GB card and jumped to MSFS thinking I'll probably will have to upgrade the CPU. I hear the 8GB on a video card is the sweet spot. I can run MSFS with no problems except some slight studdering flying low near rivers and in populated areas. But I guess that is to be expected with a low end CPU. Otherwise the sim looks and flies amazing to my complete surprise. I'm guessing you may benefit from a video card in that range for ORBX scenery. That may eliminate the bottleneck.
  8. Try to save the flight the same title every time. I do this with this sim and I've always done that with FSX. It will override what you saved before and update aircraft status and position and all the other data at that moment.
  9. should be here : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator Community folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community
  10. Hello 1)It is not online. You download the sim from Steam and run it without any disks. 2)Yes. No problems on my end at least. 3)Steam installs it in it's own steam folder. Nothing to it at all. 4)No 5)Yes. I have it on 2 computers. 6)Yes. It is the same as box FSX. I have the box version and a steam version on one pc. 7)The same as box fsx. Only thing diffrent is the path to steam fsx versus the box ediion. 8)Sign up on steam using the usual name and password then you can buy fsx and addons using that account. 9)Unsure. On my end, I'm happy knowing if my pc blows up into 100 pieces then all I have to do is download steam fsx again and I'm good to go. 10)You buy it through steam. Browse games, add to cart then buy and download it.
  11. Yes, the navlog will give you suggested altitude to each waypoint if included in the flight plan. If you go direct with the destination being the only waypoint then you will only see the altitude of that airport. So if you had another waypoint along the way the altitude to that waypoint will most likely be 4500 depending how far out from the destination.
  12. If ATIS is reporting calm winds, you might try lowering the surface winds height. My first try I got a sucessful wind report and the 19 runway was active as it should be. The airport elevation is close to 700 so I put the winds at 1000 feet surface level height. ( and yes the pic shows me at runway 01 but that was before I changed the winds. 01 would be the default runway in calm winds.)
  13. The 152 does not have DME. I discovered this on a flight yesterday. I did read that you can download mods to get DME but personally I'm not going to do that at this time. I did successfully dial in 2 VOR's on my flight but in the end it was the NDB that got me to my destination. I guess I will use the V map and a flight plan to get me to a destination from now on.
  14. Flightaware.com shows flightplans of real world flights. Just look up that flight and you will have to learn to click your way to the flightplan to view it. Hit decode to see every waypoint used in the flight.
