  1. I like the fact you don't take everything seriously... that you're here to have fun. Good for you!

  2. Personally I like exploring the world. There are places that I've covered in detail in FSX (and FS2004) that I'll probably never get to in real life. I tend to fly low and slow. But I also enjoy the challenge of recreating historic flights, using DR navigation, historic aircraft. The first airplanes I got a chance to really get to know and examine were Lockheed Constellations in the US Navy. I love old radials. So that helps.
  3. Backwards compatability is the biggest road block to enhancements in performance, new features and new capabilities. I fully understand where you are coming from, but as we saw when FSX was released - a great many "FS2004" aircraft were using FS2000 gauge technology. We are going to lose some addons with every new version. And we have to remember and budget for that to happen. Of course, nothing keeps anyone from staying with a older version. FS2004 has a strong dedicate following.
  4. I was also in VQ-1. Three tours...73-76, 79-84, and 87-90. Was a "Whale Doctor" (phrase coined during the Vinson det in 83) and an in-flight trouble shooter on my second and third tour. Good to see a fellow World Watcher around.
