  1. Hi Robin, Brian, Thank you very much for suggesting to find the fs9.cfg file. I actually did think of that before, so I already ticked to show the hidden file before I did the search. But there was nothing shown either. I am guessing it's because I was never able to "enter" FS2004 at all. (as it stuck in the EULA and then shuts down) I also did another brave move. I have an old hard drive from another computer which I had FS2004 installed. So I copied the fs9.cfg file from there to the current PC I am using. Unfortunately it's not working either...I think because the .cfg is not created from the current PC, all the configuration is different. Thank you both again for such kind support, I will continue trying different ways.. Rob
  2. Hi Brian, Thank you very much for the detailed explanation of each file I may have missed. I've followed your instruction to install Direct X, Visual C++ 2005, 2008, and .NET Framework 3.5 & 4.0. I basically had no issue installing Direct X, Visual C++ 2005 & 2008. However, when I tried to install .NET framework 3.5, there was no response after I clicked on the .exe file. And when I tried to install 4.0, it says my computer already has the 4.0 version, so it didn't allow me to install. And when I check the windows features, I can see .NET Framework 3.5 is already ticked. (therefore I assume it's already installed?) I've restarted the computer and tried to open FS2004 again, but unfortunately, it still doesn't open... :( I think I will try a few more times to see if this works...Thanks again for your kind support! Hi Robin, Thanks again for your kind assistance! I followed your instruction to download Everything and typed fs9.cfg, and for some reason, there's no such file...... is that something usual?? Rob
  3. Hi Robbin, Thank you very much for the suggestion. I've tried again to install the game under C:\Flight Simulator 9 instead of the default folder, but it's still not opening... The ALT+Enter is the switch between full screen/windowed mode. For some reason, I can see the EULA if I click on the ALT+Enter (although I can't click on "accept"); and if I don't, there's absolutely no response and the game just automatically shuts down.
  4. Hi Zswobbie1, Thank you very much for the suggestion. I've just tried again to install under C:\Flight Simulator 9 instead of its default folder, but it's still the same. The ALT+Enter is the switch between full screen mode/windowed mode. For some reason, when I click on ALT+Enter, the EULA shows up; if i don't, there's absolutely no response when I try to open the game.
  5. Hi all, I've recently upgraded my SONY VAIO VPCL218FW to from WIN7 to WIN10. Like everyone else, I have trouble opening FS2004. I've read many forums indicating the FS2004 9.1 update and the NoCD patch will fix the problem. (including running as administrator and using Windows XP SP2 or 3 compatibility to open the game) However, after trying many times of reinstalling, updating, and amend settings, I still can't open FS2004. I immediately click on ALT+Enter right after I open the file, the EULA (End user license agreement) shows up, but when I try to click on "accept" those terms, the who application freezes and then shut down. It doesn't matter how many times I try it, it's still not working. It has become very frustrating because I have played this game for more than 15 years and I still find it very fun to play it. Now because of the upgrade to WIN10, I can't play it anymore. I am wondering if there's anyone could share the same experiences and possibility to provide any other solutions to it? Thanks very much in advance and I hope I could ever play FS2004 again! Sincerely Yours, Rob
