  1. I'm trying to run four different airport scneries I downloaded from FlightSim. I've followed the instructions to add the BGL and CVX.BGL files to the Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/scenery folder. When I try loading a flight plan, I click "Current Location", no files appear. Any ideas? I thought I once heard that part of the problems people sometimes experience with FSX is because their computers (like mine) installs the program under "Program Files (x86)" Or am I just not doing this right? Perypoo
  2. Got it! It works. The system was running two devices. My Bose speakers, and a USB connection. I disabled the USB connection, and now all sounds and voices can be heard. THANKS!!
  3. I can hear all plane/engine sounds, etc. The only thing not coming through are the pilot and ATC voices. When I log off however, I do get a pop-up saying that Compatibility Mode has been applied to FSX. I don't know why. I am running Windows 10
  4. I can hear all plane and engine sounds. Just no voices.
  5. I hadn't been flying on the regular due to my work schedule. After being offline for several months, I found that I no longer have any FSX default voices, no pilots, no ATC. At least, I can't hear them. I do seen the transcript in the ATC window, but that's it. I've tried adjusting settings, and even uninstalling and reinstalling FSX, but to no avail. Coincidentally, the ' key no longer controls the ATC window. Also, Real Weather now gives me an error that it cannot load. It tells me to check my internet connection, but there is nothing wrong with my internet connection. Related? Any recommendations? Perypoo
  6. Hello Pat! Thank you! This was very informative. I never had a problem with scenery and/or aircraft in other versions of FS prior to FSX. I will print out your directions and attempt to follow to the letter. Quick question about the folder name, should it actually contain the "" in the name? e.g., "\newscenery\scenery"? Here is an example of one of the scenery and the folder which contains the bgl file Tampa_ktpa_fsx Do I just copy/cut and drop this file into the Addon Scenery\scenery folder as is? If so, I've tried that. With regard to your last question (above), yes. That was the default location my computer install to. There was already a folder called "Microsoft Games". What sort of other problems? It also installed MS Train Simulator, Open Rails and Steam to OS ©\Program Files (x86). Should I uninstall and reinstall elsewhere? If so, where do you recommend? I really appreciate your help! Perry
  7. I am trying to. Followed the steps in the Readme files to the letter. Nothing works. I've never been able to get this to work since I first purchased FSX years ago. Nothing was easy after Windows 7. :-(
  8. I may not have done it correctly. I added the folders to the Add-On Scenery folder (there were only bgl files, no textures?). When I go to settings, I don't see any files there. Am I missing a step? No, no auto-install feature. Is there a good utilities file out there that can do this automatically?
  9. I am not new to FSX, but have not been using it for quite a while. I have been trying unsuccessfully to use Add-On scenery, e.g, Ray Smith's Tampa International, Orlando Int'l, EWR and so forth. No matter what I do, it does not pick up the added scenery. I've uninstalled and reinstalled FSX thinking that maybe a critical file was corrupted, but nothing works. I am running Windows 10. Any suggestions?
