  1. Hey, Has anybody but me noticed that there are no bombers available in MSFS 2020? I don't see any (both prop and jet) from either Microsoft or the market I really want a B-25 Mitchell like "Briefing Time" or I really liked taming a B-52. Thanks for reading.
  2. Hey, Thanks for your replies. I did not buy the disks - it was a download. As I said, when I was ready, the Microsoft store didn't have the Standard version available. I didn't understand that either but that is why I went searching for it in other locations. One more thing that really confused me is that in my searching, Xbox kept showing. I didn't understand what Xbox had to do with the simulator from Microsoft. I was immediately suspicious. I still don't understand the connection. So here it is Sunday morning and I am ready to buy it again. Thanks again for all of your comments.
  3. Microsoft HATES me, Several months ago, I got a new computer. My old computer worked great with FSX,but would not work with MSFS. I don’t need all the bells and whistles with other versions so I decided on the Standard edition. When I tried to purchase, for whatever reason, the Standard wasn’t available. So I tried Steam. Worked OK but I didn’t want to be dependent on streaming on-line, so I deleted the Steam version. So I searched for the Standard edition and found it at Walmart. Walmart sent me a key but when I clicked on it, it told me that I already owned the game. I deleted any mention of MSFS on my computer and tried again - no luck. I contacted Microsoft help and ended up with some overseas group that wanted me to subscribe to their perpetual Windows service plan. Since they were affiliated with Microsoft, I agreed. They helped me load MSFS Game of the Century. I downloaded it and found myself an Xbox member. I don’t care about Xbox because I only want to fly and I only have a computer, no console. Yesterday, I started to fly and the new “40th Edition” welcome screen showed up, then MSFS crashed. It won’t run and I can’t even load my old version because “I already own it” I’m screwed. I’ll have to buy it all over again. But I’m not sure I can because I already own it.
  4. Hey, I know this sounds crazy but lately I can't start MSFS 2020. It's been working fine and now it won't load. Investigating, I found that my official folder @ C:\Users\oteym\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official is missing. I don't know how to replace it. I downloaded the standard edition and the download has expired. Any ideas?
  5. Hey, Where are the airplane files located in MSFS 2020?
  6. Newby question. I just bought a Stearman from the Flightsim store. I downloaded it, unzipped it, and installed it. I started MSFS, went to my hanger and it was not there. In fact, I can't seem to locate it on my computer. Being a newby, I guess I can be forgiven for such a rookie effort, but I really want to fly. What should I do?
  7. A newbie question. Do I need to have Xbox on my computer to use MSFS 2020? I am not a gamer, I only want to use MSFS. I am trying to buy the standard program but all I can find is the Xbox version. Thanks
  8. Hey, I’ve owned and used FS2002, and FSX Deluxe and loved them both. Then life happened and I threw away all my software and joystick. I recently got an e-mail from Flightsim.com talking about MSFS 2020 and how great it is. I watched some demos and decided that maybe I wanted to fly again. I’m not a “gamer”, in fact, I don’t know about most of the computer games available these days. My old computer worked fine for FSX, but eventually died. Since the videos and demos seemed to work on my existing computer, I decided that my existing could be fine for MSFS 2020. I also realized that I may have to change some hardware. So I bought standard MSFS 2020 from Amazon and went through over 4 hours of installation, including a huge language pack. Now I get a message that MSFS 2020 won’t run on my computer due to hardware shortcomings. The problem is it won’t tell what I need to change. I have an HP Pavilion 23 with a Radeon HD 8550D processor, AMD A8 6500T video card, a one half terra byte hard drive, and eight gigabytes of ram. I am running Windows 10 Home edition version 2004 dated 8/15/2020 and build number 19041.508. I can’t find MSFS 2020 on my computer, it won’t run and I don’t know what to do. Please help!
  9. Hey, Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, when life happened, I threw away my disks. So be it.
  10. Thanks for the info. I read where some of the airports are better in the more expensive versions. However, I don't spend a lot of time taxiing. So standard is fine. Also, what is a good joystick?
  11. Hey, I guess I want MSFS 2020 but which version. What is the difference?
  12. Hey, I had and frequently used FSX. But then life happened and I stopped. Now I think I want to come back but don't know where to start. I want realism and a large hanger of planes. Any suggestions? thanks
