  1. You need a better system. I don't know what you did but my VR has been pretty much "set it and forget it". The simplicity was one of the reasons I replaced my homebuild with a VR setup. I was referring to the fact that I can look around 360 degrees in VR. NOTHING compares to VR when it comes to field of view. Nothing is more realistic. VR replicates the head motion you would be using IN A REAL PLANE. Seriously??!!! So you are trying to make a point that VR isn't optimal because some simmers can't turn their head???? What about everybody else? If they can't turn their head then they can use a hatswitch or trackir with hyper sensitivity. The point of VR is realism. If I want to look abeam in VR I ACTUALLY LOOK ABEAM. Ya you can. I do it all the time. You can look up vor and ils frequencies in the gps in flight.. Again, you need a better system.
  2. Does anybodies else have keyboard issues when they come to the forum? It's like it just stops working as if the batteries are dead...I usually have to maestro the whole keyboard back and forth to get it working again.:confused::confused:
  3. Hello everyone. As you are aware, MS has answered the sim communities demands for VR in MSFS 2020. https://uploadvr.com/ms-flight-sim-2020-vr-high-priority/https://uploadvr.com/ms-flight-sim-2020-vr-high-priority/ In an interview with Austrian newspaper Der Standard, the head of Microsoft’s upcoming Flight Simulator 2020 revealed that VR is now “very high” on the list of priorities. Microsoft’s tone on supporting virtual reality in its next generation flight simulator seems to have shifted over the past few months. Back in late September, the team told YouTubers that it wouldn’t be included at launch but “maybe” would come later. Less than two weeks later, however, after hearing feedback from the community as to how important VR is for a flight simulator, the sim’s lead committed "we will try our darnedest to make it happen". This week’s interview suggests that in the months since then, the enthusiasm for VR support among the flight simulator team has grown even stronger. When asked where VR was in the priority list, the sim’s lead responded: "Very high! Asobo and I have years of experience with VR. We know what a lazy and a good implementation look like. We want to bring a good solution, for example by cutting off the cockpit from the rest of the world. Then you can move freely in it, and the world in the background does not start to shimmer. We have started with VR, but we want to do it right." These are exciting time for sure. Lets use this topic to discuss everything VR.
  4. What other site? There is a HUGE demand for VR now...the simming community literally demanded it be added to MSFS202, but no dedicated forum here? https://uploadvr.com/ms-flight-sim-2020-vr-high-priority/
  5. All good points actually...I forget what a headache PC's can be what with all the updates that apparently I can't disable in W10??? https://www.easeus.com/todo-backup-resource/how-to-stop-windows-10-from-automatically-update.html#:~:text=Press%20the%20Windows%20logo%20key%20%2B%20R%20then%20type%20gpedit.msc,%22%20%3E%20%22Windows%20Update%22.&text=Select%20%22Disabled%22%20in%20Configured%20Automatic,the%20Windows%20automatic%20update%20feature. "Understand the limitations of this method. While disabling the automatic update service will temporarily halt any Windows 10 cumulative updates, the service will re-enable itself after a certain amount of time. Here are the directions" I may consider going to the stability of a gaming console for MSFS2020 as well.
  6. That will be impressive yes. Also good because Aerofly does not have a scenery pack for my location. What's the word on orbx, active sky and rex regarding MSFS2020?
  7. I just watched the by MS and its great, but honestly I already fly in that kind of scenery with Areosoft fs2. If you haven't experienced the innsbruck approach in VR then you really haven't experienced flying. Here is a non-VR video for the scenery, but I gotta mention the cockpit in VR is much better. Here is a VR video..notice how real the cockpit looks compared to the virtual cockpit video. Enjoy!
  8. You guys are so cheap and demanding its a wonder MS even bothers with you. WHO CARES if you have to upgrade to Windows 10??? ASFAIK you can still upgrade for free anyway. Even better just get a dedicated gaming rig. WHO CARES how many planes there are, or airports...I guarantee 99% of you fly ONE airplane out of ONE airport 99% of the time. With the scenery we are seeing I would buy this (VR version of course) if it had one cessna 172 and one airport.
  9. Is live atc (Vatsim) going to be supported? I am referring to the MSFS2020 VR version not the other version. Flying with live atc in VR would be epic.
  10. First of all, Nells, they have an adapter for when wearing glasses. Secondly then, my opinion is I think being ifr rated should be a requirement for all pilots. If I ever flew in the real world I would go for my ifr rating just for the peace of mind. Thirdly VR is not a gimmich lol...it is the future of simming and gaming. That's why MS is releasing a VR version because THE COMMUNITY demanded it. Lastly...insulting highly qualified people? Where did I do that? P.S I have requested a dedicated VR forum for MSFS2020.
  11. We really do need our own forum to discuss VR in...no point mixing with the non-VR simmers as it is an entirely different experience. The problem is whenever the discussion of VR comes up you get the haters try to shut it down. If they want to continue simming in the dark ages then let them. We don't care. Just my thoughts.
  12. I don't get that. Have you tried it? Saying "VR isn't my thing" is like saying "a larger monitor isn't my thing...I prefer to have a smaller view when flying." VR is by far the best way to sim...it's revolutionary. How can some of you just dismiss it? "Less than two weeks later, however, after hearing feedback from the community as to how important VR is for a flight simulator, the sim’s lead committed ‘we will try our darnedest to make it happen’." It doesn't make any sense. You all should be going nuts about it...there was enough push back from the sim community to microsoft about adding VR that they are now implementing it...but on this forum there is hardly any talk of it...what gives?
  13. Have you tried VR? 1. A VFR only pilot is not a real pilot imo. I would NEVER get in the plane with a VFR or "sport pilot" no matter how good the forecast is. 2. You can't pilotage without a 270 degree wrap around view unless you use the hat switch or trackir...which as previously mentioned is basically a hatswitch on your head to free up your hands for other things. VR is an entirely different, more immersive experience than either of those options that you simply won't understand until you try it. Also, a person who flys VR will be miles ahead of any classroom students who don't use VR. 3. VR is SO IMMERSIVE that the end game doesn't have to be a pilots licence anymore. Think about it...ANY plane you want to fly, ANY where in the world, at ANY time of the day, in ANY kind of weather, without the cost of buying it, maintaining it, gas, hanger, expensive classes to get certified, or the inherent risk. You might never go back to real world flying. :) BUT if someone is interested in getting a real world pilots licence, imo they would be doing themselves a disservice by not utilizing what VR has to offer.
  14. Is that to use with your oculus rift? "It’s certainly—and I quote head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jörg Neumann—a "high priority" for the team, following fan feedback and the common assumption that there’d be full VR support based on the reveal trailer. VR at launch can’t be guaranteed though, says Neumann. The team is currently working on its implementation though, so it seems like a when, rather than an if." https://www.pcgamer.com/microsoft-flight-simulator-release-date-trailer/
