  1. I mostly fly the Cirrus SR22 and I find that I get the best compromise by rolling my mouse-wheel fully forward and then 2 clicks back. I use the mouse to look around the cockpit and outside (I only fly from the cockpit).
  2. Maybe try a binary search. This means selecting half of your mods (remember which ones!) and disable the others. If your sim works properly with this half enabled, you know that the problem(s) lie in the other half. If the sim fails to work, disable half of that group and try again. Then enable half of the previously disabled ones and check the sim again. Repeat halving mods in a similar fashion until you are able to identify and delete the problem ones. It can be a long, drawn-out procedure, but it usually is more efficient than randomly disabling by guess-work.
  3. I have seen adverts for Just Flight saying that they have a BAE146/RJ100 in development. It's a 4-engined high-wing jet. Also known as 4 hairdryers flying in close formation.
  4. Thanks for the replies. The sim works ok, but it just seems strange to have this duplication. It uses 313GB in total, with my add-ons stored on another drive, accessed by Add-On Linker.
  5. It appears that aircraft files appear twice in my MSFS 2020 folder. For example, the Cirrus SR22 appears in the following locations - once in 'Official' folder and again in 'LocalCache\Packages\Official'. The paths are as follows. M:\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-3481120542-3159723895-2401771645-1001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore\asobo-aircraft-sr22\SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_SR22 M:\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-3481120542-3159723895-2401771645-1001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\Official\OneStore\asobo-aircraft-sr22\SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_SR22 Is my installation faulty, or does the program really need these files in both locations?
  6. A couple of days ago, I started MSFS as usual, selected the Cirrus SR22 and elected to fly KTMA Tifton to KMCN Macon - a seemingly straight forward flight. I noticed that the PFD did not show the departure and arrival airports as normal, so I clicked the Flightplan button to see if I could enter the appropriate data. Instead of its usual format showing those airports, there was just ----/---- in the flightplan window. I was unable to enter any data there and the sim soon froze, so I shut it down via the Task Manager. A restart produced the same result, and the following day, I repeated the exercise with the same result. I was able subsequently to complete a flight using another aircraft (Beech G36) and its PFD functioned normally. Heeding advice frequently suggested for problems, I removed the Community folder and restarted the SR22. Frustratingly the same failure. Today, I tried the SR22, with the Community folder restored to its usual place and the SR22 now shows the flightplan in its PFD correctly. Any suggestions as to what may have caused the failure?
  7. I decided to fly VFR along the Rhine River in the SR22. I chose to set the weather as 'Clear' because I wanted to see as much as possible. My flights were at about 1500' AGL which meant that at the final leg, I was at 4000' AMSL. After each flight I landed at a suitable airport and resumed from that airport next flight. Here's how it went:- EHRD Rotterdam NL 1h 16m EDDL Dusseldorf GM 0h 37m EDDK Koln Bonn GM 1h 11m EDDF Frankfurt GM 1h 07m LFST Strasbourg FR 0h 42m LFSB Bale Mulhouse FR 0h 52m EDNY Friedrichshafen GM From Friedrichshafen, I flew south across Bodensee/Lake Constance along the Rhine until the valley looked to be narrowing too much to comfortably turn, so I reversed my course and then flew to EDTD Donauschingen GM, from where I plan to follow the Danube to its outflow into the Black Sea.
  8. At times, I find ATC to be totally unrealistic in selecting active runways. Recently, I have been flying into airports with 20 knot winds coming roughly from the southwest. Rather than selecting a runway such as 24 or 20, ATC directs me to land on runway 6 or 2. My landing speed is thus hopelessly fast. Obviously, I land in a more appropriate direction, but it does destroy the illusion of ATC being helpful.
  9. Thank you for the info. I still learn more when I fly, even after almost 4 decades of flight simming.
  10. I have just started flying the Beech G36 and there are 2 'unknowns' to me:- 1. The PFD shows an alert "busses tied" - what does this mean? 2. The MFD shows NaN (not a number?) for manifold pressure - again, what does this mean and how can I judge where to set the throttle? Sorry if these have been asked before, but I could not find search terms to locate any answers.
  11. I don't see radar towers at any airports in MSFS 2020. Have I missed setting some parameter or is this just how it's meant to be?
