Though keen to release this week, the PA28R Arrow III is still not quite ready, according to the latest announcement from Just Flight. They want to get it perfect before release so will spend the weekend implementing final changes, with release now anticipated for early next week.
In his latest video review, FilbertFlies gives a quick look at several of his favorite freeware airports for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Included are airports from around the world: US, Greece, India, New Zealand and Australia and from big international airports to small island destinations.
New to the FlightSim.Com Store is scenery developer South Oak Co and their first add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator, PHLU - Kalaupapa Hawaii. Kalaupapa is a regional airport on the northern coast on the island of Molokai. The scenery features custom natural landscape and vegetation, custom coastlines with jagged volcanic rock, accurate airport buildings and runway and more.
FlyingIron Simulations announces the release of the Spitfire L.F Mk IXc for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This Spitfire is famous for its WWII role in the Battle of Britain. The model features a perfect replica of the Mk. IX cockpit, down to the smallest detail and ultra-high artwork across the entire aircraft.
Verticalsim announces the release of MSFS 2020 scenery of Peter O. Knight Airport in Tampa, Florida, USA. It features PBR buildings and ground textures, the latest airport layout, custom vegetation, details models, clutter objects and more.
The Microsoft Flight Simulator team have released their weekly developer update, though there's not a lot of news this time around. Mostly it's about things that have not happened yet, like the Sim Update 3 slated to go live next week. The devs will also be doing another live Q&A session next week if you want to connect with them.
Taburet expands the range of Night3D scenery products for Microsoft Flight Simulator with the release of Night3D New Zealand. Night3D introduces new lamps into the existing ecosystem and is designed to work together with default lights. It is designed to create in the nocturnal MSFS world those little details the night bring with its darkness.
Aircraft designer Milviz has taken to Facebook to preview their Vought F4U Corsair for Microsoft Flight Simulator. All they say about it is "work-in-progress" and "coming soon" but the pictures show that both the exterior and interior are fully developed.
Islands make great flying destinations. The Scilly Islands off the southwest coast of the UK are quite scenic and have one airport, now offered by Taburet for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Reviewer Neil Birch takes a look at St. Mary's - Isles of Scilly and found it to be a welcome addition to the MSFS 2020 world.
Carenado is getting very close to releasing their PA28R Arrow III for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Though still lacking a specific release date, their latest Facebook posting offers up some news screen shots that are titled the final previews.
New from DC Scenery Design is scenery of KCUT - Custer County Airport in South Dakota, USA for MSFS 2020. It's located in the middle of the Black Hills which makes it interesting due to the mountains and landmarks like Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and "The Flintstones" Bedrock City. The airport and it entire surrounding are modeled.
Rolling Cumulus announces Four Extreme Bush Trips which will take the MSFS 2020 pilot to very different lands. The trips allow you to "customize" the flights so you can divert from the indicated routes and visit other airports, water ports, and land in green pastures to rest for a while. A complete Route Director is provided so you will not get lost.
thecorporatepilotdad, a real world corporate pilot, explains how to use an ADF or Automatic Direction Finder to track to and from an NDB or Non-Directional Beacon in MSFS 2020. NDBs are one of the oldest navigation systems still in current usage and knowing how to use them is still a basic skill expected of instrument rated pilots.
