    ShortFinal Design EDDM Munich New Pictures

    ShortFinal Design announces the development of Munich Airport for X-Plane 11. Munich is a major hub for Lufthansa and the second busiest airport in Germany, handling 44.6 million passengers in 2017. It was opened in 1992, replacing the old Munich-Riem Airport. The scenery will feature accurately modeled terminals with full PBR materials. Today they have released new screen shots showing dynamic rain effects.

    UK2000 Announces Guernsey Xtreme X-Plane Edition

    UK2000 has announced a new scenery package, Guernsey Xtreme X-Plane Edition. Expected to be released later this week, the scenery features the scenic island airport with fully detailed buildings, PBR, specular lighting, custom taxiways, stunning night effects and much more.

    Review: Hawk T1/A Advanced Trainer

    The Hawk T1/A Advanced Trainer has been a very successful military aircraft for many years and used by a variety of countries. Just Flight recently released a version for X-Plane 11 and reviewer Shawn Weigelt was eager to try it. He found it great fun to fly low and fast, with the plane being simple enough that it was easy for a flight simulator GA pilot to transition.

    OpenSceneryX v3.0.0 Released

    The OpenSceneryX project is a free to use library of scenery objects for X-Plane. It is a collaborative effort by members of the X-Plane community, providing a good range of high quality scenery components for authors to use in their scenery packages. Version 3.0.0 has just been released, with almost one thousand new objects.

    X-Plane pilots will soon have a new GA plane to fly. SimCrew has announce they are working on the popular kit plane Vans RV7. Real world kit plane builders construct these planes with different options, and flight simulator pilots will have options too like two or three blade props, wheel fairings and more.

    Review: Carenado Cessna 340 For X-Plane 11

    Carenado is well known for creating great looking general aviation aircraft. Their Cessna 340 II has been around for years in different versions, but is now available for X-Plane 11 and brings new features like PBR materials that make the exterior really look like the metal on a real airplane. Reviewer Shawn Weigelt loved the look of plane and was satisfied with the accessible flight model.

    Milviz Previews ATR Cockpit

    Milviz continues to be busy on a number of upcoming projects, including the ATR turboprop airliner. In the comments, they describe it as a "64-bit" model so it is expected to support Prepar3D v4 and eventually X-Plane. We now have an early look at the virtual cockpit.

    Orbx - TrueEarth GB South for X-Plane 11 Released

    Orbx has announced the release of TrueEarth Great Britain South for X-Plane 11. This is the first of three packages covering the UK. The scenery includes 42,000 sq mi of crisp, color-matched aerial imagery. A new autogen technology has been developed, allowing the placement of realistic UK style buildings. Some 130 million trees and 13 million buildings will be placed at their correct height and location. In addition numerous VFR landmarks are added.

    DC3 Airways World Rally 2018

    DC3 Airways announces World Rally 2018. This event, coming up in November, is for users of most popular flight simulators but must be flown in a DC-3 or C-47 type aircraft. Being an air rally, fastest is not the winner, rather the goal is to accurate fly each leg at a designated speed.

    VSKYLABS DC-3/C-47 Flying Lab Project Is Evolving

    VSKYLABS has announced big changes to their DC-3/C-47 Flying Lab Project for X-Plane. While working hard to bring the current C-47A up to v2.8, they've now announced that the project will expand to include two additional aircraft, a modern DC-3 and a turboprop powered DC-3. The modern DC-3 will feature a modern cockpit modeled after a real plane. The turboprop version will also be a heavily modified plane with modern cockpit.

    Everest Park 3D Previews Everest

    After previously previewing images of Lukla, the Everest Park 3D team now previews the main attraction, Mount Everest itself. It is based on 4K textures, accurately positioned to the mesh. X-Plane pilots flying in the area will now be able to see the roof our the planet from any direction.
