In this tutorial Ray Hill shows that it's not as hard as you might imagine, as he walks you through the basic design steps. Here in part 3 he concentrates on engines and landing gear.

    X-Plane - Update on Vulkan And Metal Progress

Their current expertise is in Prepar3D so moving to X-Plane would be a new platform for the design team.     Review: Mad Flight Studio - Spectr-Aero SP-30

    Being that the Spectr-Aero SP-30 is not the prettiest plane on the field, you might be tempted to not give it a look. But that would be a big mistake. Designer Mad Flight Studio has created what may well be the most detailed light aircraft ever made by X-Plane. It has the accurate flight model and 3D details you'd expect, but goes way beyond that with features that include aircraft maintenance, walk-around inspection, optional crop-dusting equipment and much more.     PropStrike Studio - Cessna 172 Bush Kit

    PropStrike Studio announces the release of a free Cessna 172 Bush Kit for X-Plane 11. Based on the stories from Ken Myles, a real world Quatam Airport bush pilot, the result is an old school workhorse C172 with retro liveries, and old and worn cockpit but also a retrofitted Garmin Angle of Attack indicator that's useful for getting into tight runways.

    Vertical-Simulations Announces KISP Scenery

    Vertical-Simulations has announced that their next flight simulator scenery add-on will be KISP - Long Island MacArthur Airport for X-Plane. Though shown without full textures, the screen shots indicate a nicely detailed airport in the works. It will be accurate to 2019 with autogate, color corrected ortho, accurate tree placement, PBR materials and many more features.
