Sky Simulations announces the first livery pack for their McDonnell Douglas MD-11 Version 2 for FSX and Prepar3D. This expansion pack adds the following new liveries: Alitalia, Finnair, Japan Airlines, Thai Airways, VARIG and Gemini Air Cargo.
Captain Sim has now released the 32 bit version of 757 Freighter Expansion adding support for FSX and Prepar3D v3 in addition to the previously released version for P3D v4. When added to the base pack, the expansion gives eleven highly detailed 757-200 variants.
Just Flight announces that VFR Real Scenery NexGen 3D Vol. 1: Southern England & South Wales is now available at the FlightSim.Com Store. This is the first volume in Just Flight's new series of UK photographic scenery for P3D and FSX. It uses the latest high resolution aerial images combined with accurately placed autogen objects and additional custom scenery.
For nearly twenty years, GoFlight has been a leader in providing cockpit controls and instruments for flight simulator pilots. Today they've announced that the company has been sold to a new owner. No word on who this is, other than stating that the new owner brings many years of experience applicable to the type of development GoFlight does so hopefully this means an improved and revitalized company.
Lionheart Creations has announced that they along with Revolution Aircraft are working on a flight simulator version of the experimental high performance and sleek Tango 2. The Tango 2 is a low-wing, composite home-built created by Team Tango in Florida. First flown in 1996, the aircraft features two side-by-side seats and can be built with a variety of engines. It will be interesting to see what build options Lionheart offers.
SamScene3D has indicated that their next FSX/P3D scenery will be Singapore City Wow. Other than "coming soon" no further details are provide. However, judging by the screen shots provided, the "wow" part seems pretty appropriate!
Virtualei.net (aka Aer Lingus Virutal) is celebrating its second birthday, showing steady growth and a structure change in the airline staff. New people have been brought into lead roles, breathing new life into the VA. A new look web site has also been developed, incorporating the new livery for Aer Lingus.
Just Flight has announced their next in house in development project is the 146 Professional. The "Whisper Jet' will include the 100, 200 and 300 series of the classic British airliner. The exterior will over 4096 textures and PBR with realistic animations of moving parts. The interior will feature hundreds of functional switches, knobs and other controls.
FlightSimExpo announces that there are already more than 30 initial exhibitors attending the June 7-9, 2019 event in Orlando. These include the largest names in hardware, software, and simulation platform development. Registration is also now open.
It's been a while since we've heard from Emerald Scenery Design about their Alaska Mesh Project for FSX/P3D, since version 1.1 came out last July. Today in a brief Twitter post, they've announced that the project is progressing to the northwest and that all initial data has been compiled and testing will begin soon.
Vidan Design has released v1.1 of their Jutland North scenery. The major change is support for Prepar3D v4. The update is available at Vidan Designs own store now.
Flying an early jetliner is a different experience from flying modern aircraft, and for those FSX or Prepar3D pilots who would like a taste, reviewer Michael Hayward recommends the Douglas DC-8 available from Aerosoft. He found that the model faithfully recreates the experience of flying a vintage jet and that flying it was an "absolute joy".
French developer FSX3D has offered a preview of their upcoming scenery of Mount-Dauphin Saint-Crepin (LFNC), a nicle aerodrome located north of Lake Serre-Poncon between Gap and Barcelonnette.
