These recommendations are taken from the FS2002 "ATC Handbook", page 10 and apply equally well to FS2004.
For those still using FS2004 there is some great scenery waiting to be tried. In this article Joshua Moore showcases some freeware that he recently tried, Coromandel, New Zealand. This proves to be a beautiful part of the world and a great flying experience.
Well known freeware development group Tenkuu Developers Studio (TDS) announces the release of the Boeing 737 MAX 7 v3 for FS2004 and Prepar3D v4. Because of the problem of unpermitted MSFS 2020 migration of FSX aircraft designs, they have chosen not to release an FSX version. The new base model is now available in the FlightSim.Com file library.

Bluegrass and WestWind Airlines are running the 20th Annual Great Australian Air Rally in March. The rally consists of ten daily legs. Flight information will be made available for FS2004, FSX, P3D and X-Plane. Details of the flights and weather are provided so that anyone with a different simulator can make up their own flight plans.
FlightSimExpo has announced its 2021 event schedule will feature presentations from airline pilots, dispatchers, accident investigators, air traffic controllers, flight simulation developers, content creators, and an F-35 test pilot! Complete with two panel discussions, the three-day schedule of seminars will be available for attendees in-person in San Diego and livestreamed for registered online attendees.
Last fall we asked you to take part in the FlightSim Community 202 Survey. Organized by Navigraph and co-sponsored by a long list of flightsim businesses and organizations, this comprehensive survey dug deep into the interests of the flightsim community. OnCourse Software announces the release of the latest update v3.10 for their flight simulator ATC program PF3 ATC. The program works with FS2004, FSX and P3D, and now also with MSFS 2020.
Skysong Soundworks announces a new sound package for FSX and Prepar3D. Douglas Dakota Real World Audio brings the famous twin engine transport to life. Interior and exterior audio samples were recorded from their respective positions and fine tuned so each stage of the RPM power band is accurately represented. It also includes start up and sounds of pumps, gear up/down, etc.

IVAO announces a new v1.10.1b of their Altitude Pilot Client. Included is full support for FS2004 as a new feature. Other new features include color added to XPL window text, MTL visibility setting, etc. as well as bug fixes.

Missing Sky Problem!
