FS2004 Scenery--Iles de la Madeleine CYGR In Quebec Canada. The Iles de la Madeleine are a group of spit islands linked by bridges in the Gulf of St Lawrence. They are east of New Brunswick, north of Cape Breton Island, west of the Island of Newfoundland, and south of the mainland coast of Quebec. On a southwest to northeast axis they are 40 miles in length and the airport CYGR is pretty much at the midpoint of the southern line of islands. Take a look at the overhead from FS9 to see what I mean. CYGR has two runways, one is aligned 08-26 and is just under 4,400 feet long and 150 feet wide with lighting and PAPI at both ends. The second is aligned 16-34 and is 3,600 feet long and 150 feet wide, without lights or PAPI. Both are asphalt. The apron is not huge, and a newish (in 2010) hangar was built with separate access to the 16-34 runway. There are daily flights by Air Canada and Pascan Aviation included in the AI. The AI also includes some boats and a ferry, and I first used these with my Dutch Harbor scenery, so if you have that already... This scenery also includes Cindy Hook, a small boat harbour just 2 miles southwest of the airport, and the larger harbour at Cap aux Meules a further 3 miles away that accommodates the daily ferry trips, along with fishing boats etc. Also included here is a further addition to the Homer PAHO scenery in the shape of a boat that is included in the Homer Spit harbour. Just add the contents of the scenery folder to the Homer scenery folder of your Homer installation, and the texture folder contents to the Homer texture folder. This is hopefully the last PAHO addition. If you find an error email me please, and note that my email address has been changed to rogwens at Gmail dot com. By Roger Wensley.

FS2004 Scenery--Homer PAHO in Alaska USA. Homer is a mainly GA airfield with rows of open air parking, but it also has scheduled flights, a terminal building, a long (for GA) runway of just under 6,700 feet that is 150 feet wide and aligned 03-21 with VASI on both ends and ILS on 03. So I think we can refer to it as an airport. Plus, at the time of this scenery (around 2010) there were three newly completed hangars on the north apron that I was told were for three companies, Bald Mountain Air service, Maritime Helicopters, and Pathfinder Aviation. I do not know which was for whom, but all three companies are in the helicopter and/or plane charter business. The south apron has a number of hangars and other buildings along it's length, starting at the western end with Smokey Bay Air that has what looks like an old control tower on the roof, then the Fire Station, and then Homer Air. I am not aware of who owns what after those first three, except that at the far eastern end there are several garages etc for the airport maintenance equipment. Next to the airport at that end there are a number of boat maintenance companies with boats pulled out of the water; this could not be well replicated due to the airport elevation above the sea level and a misplaced road. The nearby Beluga Lake 5BL float base is also included here, with some AI. The lake height above sea level has been adjusted to cope with too many cliffs intruding into the water; this is an annoying FS9 habit. The Homer scenery is as close to the actual airport as I could make it, while coping with innaccurate coast lines and roads, and grassed areas that could not all be modified for reasons that I will not bore you with. The Spit is a major scenery feature next to the airport, and I have added to this to provide some boats, docks, and nearby buildings. There is a video attached to the post that is one of a series that are about flying and take place in the Homer area, and they are worth watching. I will hopefully be able to find the one that shows how small planes use the adjacent gravel taxi path instead of the runway when back-tracking to take off on runway 21. They only go as far as the path takes them and then u-turn onto the runway and take off. By the way, this airport's AI will function at its best if the prevailing wind makes 03 the runway in use. And I will eventually stop writing 03 and just call it 3, as the US, alone in the world, does not put a zero in front of 01, 02, 03, 04 etc. You will see in the video that the northern wandering magnetic pole has now (2021) changed the runway from 3-21 to 4-22. Just one other thing to note is that all access to the runway is from taxiways A and B; there is no access to the extreme western end of the runway as the taxiway there is marked as out of service. If you find an error email me please, and note that my email address has been changed to rogwens at Gmail dot com. Couldn't find which video shows use of the gravel path. This one originates in one of the T hangars newly built (in 2009) on the northern apron. By Roger Wensley. (See also HOMER_PLANES.ZIP)

    FSX Blohm & Voss Ha139 V1 And V2 Mail-Carrier Floatplane Upgrade

FSX Blohm & Voss Ha-139 V1 And V2 Mail-Carrier Floatplane Upgrade. FSX/Acceleration Blohm & Voss Ha-139 V1 and V2 float planes from 1937. This is the second and final upgrade of my very first 3D-model I've built in 2014. The new models are completely reworked and has now glossy bare metal textures (no glossy in P3D!) and a very detailed VC with an interior which is regarding to old photographs as realistic as possible. Also the seats for the navigator, engineer and radio operator are represented. The Ha139 was one of the biggest float planes ever built. It was a German catapult launched mail-carrier plane, equipped with four Diesel Engines. Only three planes were buildt: V1 "Nordwind", V2 "Nordmeer" and V3 "Nordstern". The planes were used to shorten the time for transatlantic cross overs. Therefore they were carried on a tender vessel and when within proper range (max. 5000 km) they were catapulted for take offs. A very special animation is included: A supply boat is approaching and stopping at the float. Eleven FSX camera views let you watch the animations or let visit you the working areas for the crew. FSDS model and 2D panel by Erwin Welker.

FS2004 Scenery--Seldovia PASO in Alaska (AK), USA. Seldovia is a small airfield across the Kachemak Bay from Homer, 15 miles to the south. The runway is gravel and without lighting; the runway edges and the apron edges are marked by cones. The runway in real life is aligned 16-34 and is just over 1,800 feet, increased here to 2,200 feet to accommodate FS2004 AI plane capabilities. The video is one of a series that are well worth watching and this one demonstrates the technique of short field landing and take off. There is AI, with flights between Homer and Seldovia. I should mention here that I can only make scenery to fit into my version of FS2004, and probably your version is not exactly the same. Also, you may not have the planes that I have used for AI. Unfortunately I cannot cater for something I do not have myself. Homer PAHO will follow on from this post. X-Plane 11.35+ Handley Page Victor K2 1.1.2. Complementing the Victor B Mk2 (HANDLEY_PAGE_VICTOR_B_MK2.ZIP), we are pleased to now release its later tanker variant. Takeoff requires 2nd flap and unstick is about 190 kts. A very stable flyer, should give no problems. The new 3D cockpit (which is an approximation), will later be updated on the bomber version. If you need to land on a short runway you can deploy the drag parachute from the panel. Below the engine instruments, the yellow button (using tailhook dataref) is used to show and hide the refuelling drogues in their stored and deployed forms. It has a lot of CAD objects in it so is quite a large download. This aeroplane represents XM715 that is on display at Bruntingthorpe and occasionally does fast taxi runs. It has a very interesting history. Compliments to DomHenry for his excellent texturing and fine detailing of airframe and wing attached objects. Turn the volume up! Version 1.1.2: updated texture to give more realistic roundel and fin flash colouring. By Ray Hill.
