    Review: Orbx FTX Global

Though not one of their newer products, FTX Global for FSX and Prepar3D from Orbx is one of those things considered a "must have" by many flight simmers. What it does is change the default scenery throughout the world, making textures, night lighting and so on more realistic--and without making an impact on performance. Reviewer Michael Hayward was quite impressed with the results of using this package.

MeshXP British Isles for X-Plane 11 by Taburet is compiled using 30 m resolution elevation models. It uses highly detailed hydrological data to rebuild completely the hydrological scenery to very high details, in short every lake, river, pond and canal is now rendered in the scenery. This mesh also features highly detailed autogen buildings and vegetation, positioned as in the real world. Reviewers Paul and Hilary Mort were very pleased with the results.

Getting Around Missing X-Plane Object Libraries

Most freeware X-Plane scenery relies on a number of common object libraries to create the buildings and other objects that appear in the scenery. This works fine - if you have the necessary libraries installed. If not, your scenery will be missing things and that won't look good. This tutorial shows you how to fix the problem.

Orbx offers up what was the UK's first purpose built municipal airport (in 1928) with EGCB Manchester City Airport and Heliport (Barton) for X-Plane 11. This classic field includes four grass runways and a helicopter area, rendered in the high detail that Orbx is noted for.
