• The Associates Reorganize As Just Flight

    Just Flight Takes Off

The Associates, the world’s favourite dedicated flight simulation publisher, has announced a dramatic change to its name and trading style.

As of May 1st, 2000 The Associates will trade under the name ‘Just Flight’. Reflecting this change, the registered name of the company is now Just Flight Limited and an all-new website – www.justflight.com - is already live and kicking.

Managing Director, Mungo Amyatt-Leir explains, “Over the past four years The Associates has experienced 100% growth year on year – with our business entirely focused on serious flight simulation. While other large publishers have been seen to be deserting the genre we're expanding rapidly to support the long term growth of the flight simulation community.

“While some have been fearful of our rapid dominance of the flightsim add-on market, we've built up a reputation for our integrity and eagerness to help - be it developer or customer. While others shout about what they plan to do, we quietly and persistant get on with it, never forgetting that the customer always comes first. During the past year, we have also moved into publishing our own standalone simulations and more serious real-life aviation training products. These have been met with critical acclaim and sales success and broadened our reach to the millions of aviation enthusiasts further.

“Additionally, we now have much more of a worldwide presence, with offices in the UK, America and Germany. The new name and website reflects this more effectively.”

The purchase of Atlanta-based Flight One Software at the end of last year has given the company very valuable development expertise and a useful boost to its US profile. Just Flight now has the ability to develop both add-on and standalone aviation products and sell them directly to retailers almost anywhere on the globe. The launch of specialist magazine, PC Pilot - www.pcpilot.net - six months ago, along with other activities has made Just Flight much more than an old-school software publisher.

Mungo goes on to say, “We are moving much towards being a media company that specialises in simulated aviation. We already provide valuable content on CD-ROM, on print with PC Pilot, and provide products over the web. This year we will be launching DVD titles and expanding our online presence with some tremendously exciting developments.

“Aviation attracts millions of dedicated enthusiasts. We seem to be the only publisher who understands what theyare really looking for and can deliver the content they want – be it an official RAF add-on pack or complex instrument training simulation. Just Flight reflects much more accurately who we are. It is set to become a powerful brand in the coming months.”
