    MSFS 2020 Real World Comparison

    By Laurie Doering

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is the most real looking sim we've seen. But just how real is it? The only best way to say is by actually doing a fly-off, real world vs sim. Laurie Doering has done just that, departing Brantford Airport (CYFD) and flying to Burlington, Ontario in a Vans RV-9A sport airplane. The identical flight path was followed in Flight Simulator using the ForeFlight navigation app.

Your video wasn't what I expected...loved it! What were you flying in the actual flight? A light Sport, I assume? In MSFS, I've been using the JMB VL-3 of late.

Thanks for watching! In the sim I used the TBM930 on autopilot and throttled back to 130kts.

Well done. A great way to take a comparison look at the sim.
      Thanks for the great work

Great fun, used to fly around that area in a Maule and then a decathlon, but with all the gusts I think virtual reality is just easier!! Love the setup in your RV.9

Really fascinating. Demonstrates the superb quality of scenery in MSFS. I could have done without the loud music however - or any music in fact.

Was that the standard scenery in MSFS? or did you have a paid for upgrade? Apart from the full foliage it was very realistic.

      VERY INTERESTING
MFS IS QUITE REAL EXEPT MAY BE FOR COLORS
PITY THE SIM IS STILL SO UNSTABLE AND NOt ORGANIZED FOR SIMMER CONFORT AND EASE TO USE SOME FSX ORGANIZATION SHOULD HAVE BEEN KEPT (control options with separate axis and commands , librairy organization , planes basic spécifications not the bull sheet inacurate blabla provided with the sim planes]) !
Hope is not forbiden for the future

Thanks for watching! A long video does get a little dry without any background music. I try and select the music carefully. Other forums have commented how great the music is. Some prefer music, some not. Thanks again for the visit.

So cool to hear this! No gusts in the sim is certainly easier! Appreciate your comment on my RV!

This video is an excellent piece of work. I have been wanting to see something like this. May I ask you what your system specs are?
