I really don't care about new DCS World aircraft anymore. They have become too expensive.

If you wait for the quarterly sales, they're deeply discounted and actually become Good Deals.

Even the brand new addons launch with 30%-40% early access discounts.

The high price of the modules is actually less than many of the new addons in other simulators, but the quality of the DCS addons is second to none.

"Early Access" is just another term for unfinished, a status that too many addons retain for years. These are the string along years after release.

There is also a multi-year period before release for the hype campaign. The DCS Corsair was first mentioned in 2015!

My own policy is not to consider a purchase until I have read several objective reviews that indicate a finished product that is reliable and stable.

To be fair, this is not a problem of DCS alone as MSFS , Wing42 Vega, and the "Pilot's B314 debacle" are three other prominent examples. There is just far too much "pre-advertising" in this industry and not enough genuine and reliable substance There are years of manufactured anticipation followed by months or years of disappointment and wasted time.

A long period of "development" accompanied by a hype campaign then an "early access release" far too often indicate problems in development that are never solved. The pattern is unmistakably familiar.

I tend to support only those developers that complete a first class product and then release it (e.g. PMDG, A2a)

This nonsense will cease only when we, as a community, expect it to.

Correct, when it says, early access and you buy into it, you do so knowing full well it is incomplete. I have a lot of DCS modules, never paid full price for a single one, and only one of them is in early access(the F-16), and as much as I love A2A airplanes, and own all but the Bonanza, their lead in time is also years, and they only tell people what they are working on when it is going to market, and even then, they often issue any patches and updates, so as good as they are, they are not prefect, and don't get me started on PMDG's over priced airplanes. The only one I ever bought and the last(unless they make good on what they said about 757), was the 737X, and it was riddled with bugs for a long time afterwards. Don't want to buy DCS planes because you can't handle them? Fine. Can't accept that they are way more complex than anything that A2A or PMDG have released to the market? Fine. However, spare us the melodrama because you lack realistic expectations and coping methods.
