    How To Enter The Traffic Pattern - CJ4 WorkingTitle Mod + Savage Grravel MSFS 2020

    This tutorial shows the ways to enter the traffic pattern at a non-towered airport and at an airport with a control tower. Sectional charts and diagrams are made as well as names of each leg in the traffic pattern.

    The CJ4 Working Title Mod (jet) and the Savage Grravel (prop) aircraft are used in this video.

    This video is intended only for use with Microsoft Flight Simulator.

      Great tutorial. But I had to smile when I saw it used the Indianapolis Motor Speedway racetrack for ground reference. I was there when I was a kid, 1968 I believe, when the Blue Angels passed high over the track during time trial qualifications, probably after doing an air show at nearby Mount Comfort Airport. Famed Speedway announcer Tom Carnegie said on the PA, "There's the Navy's Blue Angels. But, unfortunately, they're prohibited from flying over the track." Carnegie was a great announcer, but could be a mean and unpleasant guy in person, by the way. He turned off his microphone (CLICK!) when two of the Blue Angel jets came roaring right down the main straightaway at low altitude, right in front of the grandstands. The crowd went wild, an unforgettable experience. Pattern flying, indeed!

      I am glad you liked the tutorial and I enjoyed your story on IMS. I was fortunate enough to hear Tom Carnegie announce at IMS. His voice will never be replicated at that place. That voice is a part of that Speedway as is Andretti or Foyt. I decided to put IMS in the video the day before I did the video. It was a perfect illustration of what a traffic pattern is supposed to look like. My former boss used to fly for Tony Hulman in the late 70s and actually got to land on the back straight away at IMS. He told me he was one of two people to ever land on the track at that time.
