    SDK Update

The SDK team continues to improve many areas of the SDK based on input from the developer community. Recent work focused on:

    DevMode Progress:

    • Project Editor:
      • We are working on the Project Editor to facilitate Package exporting for community and marketplace targets. A package validation process is also being added to this new publish process, with user-facing error feedback.
      • Besides improvements on the Project Editor, we are also working on the Console window to improve its ergonomics and add features which should help better understand what is going on in the sim.
    • Aircraft Editor:
      • The tool keeps on being improved thanks to community feedbacks and bug report, which are systematically taken into account and most of the time addressed straight away.
    • Scenery Editor:
      • General stability improvements.
    • Nodal Visual System:
      • We keep making progress on the new nodal visual effects system, which should be ready for production soon.

    Web Assembly:

    • We continue to work on improving debugging information and iteration times.
    • We are further extending the GDI+ compatibility layer

We are fixing the external FsPackageTool for users of the Steam version of the game.

    • We updated and fixed part of the documentation.
    • We updated the AirportVehicleSample.

When they were hawking the sim in July I was commentng on something like Microsoft an American company, and no 737 showing up. Why is Microsoft, next to Boeing pushing a sim with airbuses. well I couldnt wait anyway I prepurchased. and I got my answer. CH yoke and pedals not recognized in this sim, US Most planes yoke & Pedals. Europe Hotas. And CH only been around since FS98.. Oh yes I bought Digital. I have yet to get it to work correctly, and I cannot get my money back. dcmair

They have said helicopters will come at some point, but haven’t provided much info about when.

Hello DCMAIR. Just glanced at your comments this morning. Don't know why you feel that Airbus is only being represented in fs2020 when there is the 747-8i and 787 which are American and Boeing aircraft included in the sim. I'm hearing rumors of an additional 737 being added later to the sim. Also PMDG will be adding the 737ng and possibly the Max soon to fs2020. As far as the CH yoke and rudders are concerned, I use the CH yoke-le and the CH pedals and they work fine. Remember you have to first set them up under the axis in controls setup. After you have done that, the pedals and yoke will work.

Like I said, they haven’t provided any more details about helicopter support beyond that it is coming.

4BNME......I am not trying to run the sim down. I am just trying to figure out what they are doing. Did you get a disk? to install. Why do I have to install through Xbox being digital. How come you can get your money back but I cant. yes on the 747 which I never fly on any sim. what heppened to 737=700=800=900 with the old cockpits. 727-200, Helis. The scenery is fantastik. I have had to uninstall about 10 times to get it to work. And it still does not work. Installed the CH yoke & pedals. Does not work.

Well you said why no Boeing only Airbus. To which was pointed out, that there are two Boeing aircraft and only one Airbus. The fact that you have not flown them or don't want to fly them is no one's fault but yours. The 737 will be coming from PMDG soon-ish though I'd suspect it will be early 2021 before it is released. Same with Aerosoft's CRJ. I think that the biggest reason the 737 was not included was because of all the scandal surrounding the 8-Max. So be patient.

You're right, we haven't heard much about that since launch. I'm not sure if we should be happy or concerned about that. I do own an XBOX One X and think my son might prefer to play MSFS on that, and it will draw a bigger audience into the genre, something which should benefit us all. However, there is no way that they can build the same fidelity and options on the XBOX as for PC and that may result in the whole offering being "dumbed-down" for the sake of compatibility and development.

I am assuming that the Xbox release will coincide with the release of the Xbox Series X (though I haven't seen official word). The current console couldn't run the program.

"But already promised for Xbox One", with the next-gen Xbox Series X console scheduled to ship this holiday, the title has a clear opening on the platform. In the meantime, the studio continues to reiterate more to come "at a later date. So bassically the pulled a Microsoft Lie....again.

How is it a lie? They’ve always maintained that the Xbox version would come later and nothing more. It has been mentioned in the latest developer interviews where they said they are working on it. However, given the state of the PC version, I think they have lots to do before releasing for the Xbox. The one factor that may have changed things is the debacle with what was supposed to be the primary launch title for the new consoles, Halo.

Microsoft has also stated elsewhere that their first party Xbox titles will run on both the current Xbox One and new Series consoles for at least the next year or so. Many current Xbox titles already do things like cap frame rates at 30 FPS and/or run at resolutions below 1080p, alongside lower resolution textures and models to keep performance smooth. The same will probably happen with the sim when running in older consoles.
