• HJG 2020 Mid Year Mega Release

    HJG

The HJG (Historic Jetliners Group) once again has pleasure announcing a large web site .... this being its 5th and largest release (so far) for 2020.

This latest HJG web site update is composed of some 117X new files for it's civil B707, B727, B737, BAe 146/ARJ, DC-8, DC-9, DC-10, L-1011 TRISTAR, MD-80 and military C-135 TYPE flight lines (for FS2004 and FSX) .... for everyone's free FS fun'n'enjoyment.

The content of this release represents a virtual league of nations featuring operators from Africa, Alaska, Australia, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hawaii, Italy, Japan, Jordan, New Zealand, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK, and the USA .... covering the late 1960's until the present day .... and among which sked/non-sked PAX/freight and express type civil, corporate/VIP, demonstrator, military, transports for premier sports teams, and even a screen prop subjects are all represented in colourful classic, as well as modern day definitive, hybrid, logo jet, and other promotional type liveries .... so there's something (if not plenty) to please someone/most among this lot to say the very least.

Also included within this latest HJG release is a new aircraft base pack for its military C-135 SERIES inventory .... and which is "the first" to benefit from new FDE revisions which are currently being developed.

For further information concerning HJG's 2020 Mid Year Mega Release offerings please refer to today's linked forum announcement.

Come on HJG, allow us the option of using the Civa INS
Any number of the HJG simulations/panels (those which INS is applicable to and that are either it's own productions or which its been authorized to re-engineer) already feature INS .... and what's represented functions almost identically to the CIVA version and which is also customized to work in conjunction with HJG's AP programing.

BUT .... there's another other overriding factor in all this too and which need to be born in mind ....

INS "is not" applicable to everything .... and which why it's not represented among everything HJG offers.

A number of the panel versions HJG offer (particularly among its B707/720/C-135, B727, CV-880, CV990, and DC-8 panel range) are not INS featured .... simply because some versions these panels are intended to be "period specific" and representative of the era "prior to" INS NAV technology .... and which is the groups preference.

Again .... INS "is" represented by HJG, but, included only among those simulations to which it's most applicable .... and once more .... what's offered functions similarly to the CIVA version and with very little, if any, difference/s at all.

Sorry Mark, while its fantastic to have your own INS to use, its simply not in he same ballpark as the Civa units.
But I won't deny the incredible HJG website and downloads though. Amazing stuff.

No problem .... and comments appreciated regardless.

Not trying to defend nor even promote the HJG INS .... in the very least.

Out of respect for FS.COM too .... don't want to engage in matters that could possibly be construed as relating to technical support within what's essentially "a Community Notice" on another FS site either (the HJG forum is the place for all that) .... other than to "suggest" what one gets out of either INS is dependent upon how one uses each since both are composed of their fundamental differences.

Invite you to raise the subject "on the HJG forum" (if you desire) .... where our INS specialist will be more than pleased to further discussing it with you and over there
