Microsoft Reveals More Xbox Series X Specs

Microsoft Reveals More Xbox Series X specs, confirms 12 teraflops GPU.

This is rather interesting as it gives us some insight into the hardware needed to run the new Microsoft Flight Simulator:

"Microsoft is revealing more specifications about its next-generation Xbox Series X hardware today. The biggest new confirmation is that the Xbox Series X will include 12 teraflops of GPU performance, which is twice what's available in the Xbox One X and eight times the original Xbox One. This type of performance puts the Xbox Series X beyond most mid-range graphics cards from AMD and Nvidia, and it's an impressive jump for a game console. It certainly shows that the next-gen Xbox and PS5 are going to go far beyond the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro..."

      Actually, not really..
Just because it has great specs, most certainly does not indicate that those specs are required to run MSFS.
MSFS is only one of many games that will be released for the console.

But this is interesting....something like this may be several orders of magnitude less expensive than a monster gaming PC. And if the version of FS202 that runs on it is the same as the PC version, maybe this might be a good way to go. Provided, that is, that you can plug good hardware into it for flight controls. Never had one of these boxes, so I have no idea if that is possible, but we have very smart people around who could certainly invent an interface for something like that.

The current XBox consoles already support mouse, keyboard and joystick, and XBox Game Studios claim that the XBox X will support most if not all types of yokes, pedals and throttles by the time of launch.

So, vehicles will spin out, smoking the tires, and flip, on turns if going over 40 kts. All at 4k (or 1080p) and 120 fps!! But no worries as you will have 'Quick Resume' to continue to do what it was doing before! Oh, wait, it does that now so why do I need the X Box Series X to do that? I DON'T. Ha!

12 teraflops, OK. How can I measure what our current CPUs/GPUs do? All benchmarks I've seen (Passmark/3Dmark/etc) use an arbitrary scale...

Usually mentioned on the manufacture's website.

Wikipedia is also a good source; for example:
